If that guy doesn't get an honest shot with the ones early in the game in non-conference, I will be very disappointed in this staff. He may not look like a Greek god or have a bunch of stars or even a scholarship, but the guy is tenacious and gets yards.

I think he'll get some time. He's got the moves, effort and hands. I have a feeling if you can't pass block or catch you may not see the field much with these QBs we now have.

I saw him play in the state championship game against Ashland/Greenwood his senior year. Kid was not just unstoppable but untouchable. I think he will get his chance but I think 18, & 21 are much better. Kid has mad skills and will get his chance. I trust the coaches to play best players.

Im fine with everything except Coach Cav. I am not a hater, I want whats best for Nebraska and I am not willing to settle for 8,9, or 10 wins. I want championships and anything less is a disappointment. I will call a spade a spade and will not sugar coat it. I also will give credit due when its due. Brute honesty is the way I do things. some people don't like calling a player "not good enough" but there are some who are not good enough. I feel that way about some coaches too. There are not as many coaching at NU as there were last year thats an improvement. IMO Coach Cav is not Husker caliber. JMO

With the overhaul that was needed, the wins haven't come fast and furious. But to expect that they would is unrealistic, in my opinion. If Cav has another bad year, he will be fine. But you don't need to act as if those who support these coaches are fine with 8-10 wins. We want championships. I, for one, will be patient. As long as we see continued progress, That's what I am looking for.

Riley singled him out earlier this spring. Mazour is the reason why we only took one back this year. Hass looked pretty darned good too. We've got some depth at RB and these guys aren't chopped liver. They're smart players and good receivers out of the backfield with under-rated speed.

Not so sure about that if Jaylin Bradley wouldn't have qualify we would have been left out with a running back in the 2017 class...Reggie Davis needs to find us or land a stud running back in this up coming class.

I had my doubts when I read all the hype about this kid. Today I was impressed by what he brings to the offense. I honestly see him stealing a few touches from the established studs in front of him due to his mismatch ability. I see him eventually getting 5-6 touches a game to move the chains and see if he can make a big play. Dude can sneak out the backfield like he is invisible and when he gets one on one with a LB, it it a big mismatch I believe. He is like a 160 pound H-back coming out of backfield, where nobody that normally covers those guys wants anything to do with him. Dude is a waterbug.

Things could get interesting with him, methinks he could have some special packages, and as dingle says looks like there could be another one right behind him in a few years in Hass. Not expecting mazour to start but between special teams and a few runs/swings/motion slot pass routes he will have some chances this year.

You must have me confused with someone else. I wanted Bo gone for a long time. I was never a fan. He and his 9 wins were a blood stain on the university.

Yes he had a good game. Hope our defense gets better by fall though. I realize they were limited today and have been working predominantly on the 3-4 but our QB and RB looked like consensus all Americans.

I think it's just a matter of how you want to use him. Seems obvious that there is a role for a Danny Woodhead type on this team. Who would be better than Mazour in that role of third down back? I don't think anyone on this team is even close. Watching this kid catch it on the dead sprint on that crossing route was a thing of beauty.

Not saying that this kid should start ahead of Bryant, but he should have a third down role on this team.

Both of them looked good after the catch and while they may not take it 80 they can get you a first down at crunch time. Rose and Mazour are ahead of Adam Taylor which was interesting to see. Maybe they could get some snaps at fullback or Hback - both could help in the passing game. Mazour in particular looks like he could handle the role with his skill set.

Mazour has the skills it takes to play big time at this level, ie the big 10, give him a chance and he will show it. saw him play many times in highschool and came away impressed every game, the guy has 'it' and given the chance he will show everybody why he is a d1 talent, if he came from texas or cali, he would be on scholarship instead he played at C1, give him time and he will show us all the skills he has.

Although it sounds good to get him chances, carries, special packages, etc, there are only so many plays in a game divided between the backs. Prob special teams, returning etc will likely be his best opportunity. JMHO.

Not bashing Mazour, but I don't see him taking reps away from Tre or Wilbon. I do think he will get some looks as a 3rd down back, especially 3rd and medium-long and kickoff returns

No problem. What makes the board unique is that we can discuss this stuff. It's the fun of coming on here and I enjoy your takes. So I totally hear you on Mazour—he probably is a 3rd stringer at RB right now. Looks like he can bring some of that 'Nebraska passion' like Janovich, B.Reilly, etc. I probably am wrong and the coaches were truly tinkering to see if he could do/prove anything. That said, I just am not sold on Wilbon, though. I don't know exactly what it is, I've tried to study his behavior and it is a little odd to me. I think he makes too many mistakes to really see the field. Hope he can become the 2nd back though because he is quick and shifty.

Wilbon upped his game according to the staff and will get more touches in the fall if healthy. Tre is 1a. Mazour appears to bring some intriguing intangibles with his game. Former QB so it's likely he has a good overall understanding of the game. Zig has been bothered by injuries, and would appear to be slotted for backup duty.
