Major factor in some of our losses.
68% is not acceptable for D1 scholarship players.
Practicing another FT shooting option couldn't be any worse.

I heard that if you hit the square on the backboard the ball will go in every time.
It is not there as an art expression

When my son would practice free throws and hit 6 out of 10, I used to tell him that if he keeps shooting that poorly, Frank Martin's going to call him up and offer him a scholarship. Now it looks like that's Paris's sweet spot as well.

Bring back Buck Freeman.

And recruit smarter players too. Historically, our worst teams were turnover machines in the dumbest ways imaginable. This year is definitely one of those teams.

Other exceptional skills can cause a flaw to become invisible. Without those exceptional skills flaws become blatantly obvious.
Players with average skills need to make a high percentage of their FT's to demonstrate some team value.

A free throw allows you to pick a spot behind the line. Choose your spot and PRACTICE free throws from there until it becomes muscle memory. After a time you should make free throws with your eyes closed.

PRACTICE is the key word. Our guys perform like the free throw line is foreign or something new they have never seen before.

If you are saying that if my kid becomes the NBA's leading scorer over a decade in the NBA, nobody will care about his FT%, I agree with you.

Someone posted earlier that the team percentage was I think 68.7; round that to 70. Roche and Joyce were 82; round that to 80. So on average, those two made 1 out of 10 more free throws. More to to fret about than free throws.
