Against lesser teams I “thought “ our frontline looked pretty good. They haven’t looked good against good competition. Outcome of tonight’s game may be an indicator of how the rest of the season will go. Still not sure Paris has figured out who startling bigs should be.

VT is 6-2, anybody have any idea on "what kind of 6-2?" I looked at their schedule, they seem to be about the same caliber of team Scar is. Seems like the type of W needed for any post-season hopes as I am assuming we are looking at being a mid-tier SEC team, so need that ooc to be as strong as possible. So is a VT victory significantly helpful in this cause or is it more so a matter of you can't lose this type of game and expect the post-season?

A win against VT would give me a little bit of hope for this season. A loss at home to VT and I lose all hope for this season and probably will be another last place finish.

We are getting killed underneath, yet still within 3 at half. Still not sure who our best post defender is. Give Strong some more playing time.

Lamont brags about not coaching offense because if you play good defense, the offense takes care of itself. They better rethink that position. And I don’t know how long he’s gonna let us play small lineups and get pounded and not even be able to get a rebound. Play the French 7 foot Guy. He’s got good touch around the basket and he gets rebounds. Plus he’s got a big body. I don’t know why in the hell we have to look like midgets playing tall teams when everybody’s tall. Edassanko is a good player.

Paris is killing me.

Lamont, let’s average big man for every team dominate us. For the love of God put in some size.

Lamont looks like a deer looking into headlights. Does he have a clue about what he is doing? Does the unstoppable Eli Ellis have any points? We look pitiful.

as happens every game, we’re getting our heads beat in on the boards and look like midgets. He puts in the big guy and we start coming back every single time. It’s happened every game we’ve lost. He gives them a few minutes then takes him out and we go from one or two down back to seven down. It happened against Butler and it happened against Northwestern. I don’t know what the heck his problem is with playing big guys. The guy gives us a presence and rebounds.

He did that stuff with Josh Gray too, and we would get pounded on the boards. You don’t need that center to be an offensive juggernaut. You need him to get rebounds and stop people from patty caking the ball off the backboard.

We aren't good at shooting, rebounding or defending but we are still close.
I think in a year or two this will be a decent team.

Paris might not make it until next year. We have some talent but I don't think we have enough to get out of the cellar this year.

Why not call TO at half court there and then set up a catch and shoot three? that was terrible

Piss poor time management. It’s like these guys didn’t realize they had an additional timeout in their pocket after they came off the bench. This falls on Paris wholeheartedly.

Takeaways
-Start Strong at F and the French guy at C, rotate the other guys.
- Figure out the other F spot.

That’s it, guard spot has depth so not the problem. To make the Dance you need to go.500 in league, don’t see that happening. But, SEC was historically strong last year, might not be as strong this year. At best I think we could be an NIT team, at best. Still, team played a good 2nd half, but VT won’t be a top tier ACC team.

Just made it in from the game. Haven't read through the post yet.

- fun atmosphere and game

- Meechie- what can you say. Two critical missed free throws and the brain fart at the end of regulation. No doubt he wanted to be the hero. I told my son he was going to jack up a crazy three at the end of OT. Sure enough... Expect more from a super senior.

- Big #2 should have been playing as much as he could. I really like Paris but don't understand why he kept him out of the game deep in OT. He had the opportunity to put him in on defense when Knox was shooting a foul shot. He elected not to and they scored an easy layup with no inside presence. Didn't play at all in the first half.

- Mongolian Mike quit playing defense when he got his 4th. He allowed their best shooter to take an uncontested 3. It's OT, you need to lock him down, even if it cost you your 5th.

BS- 100% on Meechie and Meechie only. Don't give VT time to set-up with a time out. Paris should have confidence in his 5-6 year team leader to know the situation. We had VT on their heels. I would have done the same.

It was on Meechie on that play, but we will still live or die on his play until we get the post figured out. We switch too many guys in too often. Settle on a starting 5, especially in the front court. We played both 7”footers at once then played with both on the bench. I don’t understand that. Start Essandoko and Strong then figure out the other forward. Butler is a backup, not a starter. We are deep at guard, like all of them. The interior offense and defense is killing us.SEC as a league is not looking as strong as last year, but not sure we are strong enough for it to matter.
