Huge win. Great job by the kids. Nice to see them take pride in the rivalry. Also happy for Kuska and his staff.

Kuska job safe for a long time as long as he keeps beating MC. That was a great win for Rita
31 - 28. Replay of the winning FG on St. Rita twitter. The Sophomore kicked the hell out of that ball.
One of St. Rita's most diverse offenses. Win keeps Kuska at the helm. But then his job is not in jeopardy.
Some soul searching was done this week after last week's loss. Played better on defense too. Kuska and co get credit for tonight. Funny how these wins are never talked about or remembered by some on this board.
I have said since the St. Pat's game, this SR team will be competitive in all the Blue games. I had the initial prediction in Iggy's CCL prediction thread of MC 34 SR 28. Basically a close game either way but why win the game in a prediction thread.
So now people will say MC is bad because they lost to Rita. MC will compete for state. As I said in another post, #27 on MC is one the most dangerous players with the football in his hands in the state.
I mean if you check my post history, you'll see I'm the last optimistic SR fan. I don't get the haze of hate surrounding this SR team. I mean I do get it. It comes from an influential MC poster that is held in high regard by all on this board. But he actually pulled me out of Edgy retirement because of the crap he spreads. I retired before because I just don't like posting about 15 to 18 year olds trying their best for their schools and families. But someone had to counter the crap on this board and I will defend St. Rita till I die. And like social media or not, it shapes public opinion.
He has said this year (and I'm paraphrasing for brevity) Rita won't win any Blue Games, Rita will finish under .500, Rita doesn't get or have any talent anymore and that Rita belongs in the White. The last one is ribbing, I get it, but it's certainly dumb to put in a thread.
Why care? An MC guy being an MC guy. Yeah no problem but check the pulse on the site and how Rita football is talked about, so he has a pretty toxic effect. Look at Rita's defeats and schedule. Sure they don't stop too many people like year's past but no one has stopped their O either. Rita's uptempo offense made me see something tonight that I have never seen, MC defenders with hands on their hips. The talk of Rita should be Rita is good, have to tighten up on defense. Not every thread has to turn into a dying Rita thread, a Rita has to move thread or Rita can't compete with the state's best. Crap. Just plain crap.
Another classic game in a great rivalry. End of story.

Just as influential as you. You're a long timer with great insight into the Joliet area teams and I enjoy your posts. DoS knows a ton of South Side Catholic League HS Football. He knows the history, the players on the field, the players off the field. When he does post, people listen and they should, he knows his stuff. But I also know the dog-whistle crap he pulls on this site.
Everyone likes to downplay this site's influence on the conversation around HS football in this state. It's where people go for info. It was so funny watching the 2nd half of the game on TV after getting home from Gately and the announcers were just filling in with info that was nearly quoted from posts on this site. I don't blame them, Edgy has a great site that has a ton more info than when it was just Taylor Bell and his couple articles a week. And they are on top of their jobs by doing said research.
So don't try to marginalize my comments with that crap post. You're better than that. DoS knows what he does.
I for one am another poster who stepped away from the board because of the negativity. There are posters a lot more mean spirited than deano. His not so veiled method of posting is pump up MC recruiting while pushing down SR's. And this comes from a MC alumni.
I can say that a large numbers of kids who workout with speed and agility coaches off season from MC SR BR PC get along very well. Kids who live in the same neighborhood and played on the same grade school team don't become evil or gods gift depending which high school team they played for.
MC and SR are good football teams. But neither is great. Both can do well in post season. Enjoy the games and watch young men become good men on and off the field. That's what CCL football is about.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Actually with as much Catholic League Football Dean and I know, we would probably spend 10 hours at McNallys talking about all the lies, and fun, and battles.
I mean I'm the guy at church with the SR polo on or pull over on and always reppin' Rita. But just lately I'd get more and more 7th and 8th grade parents asking me about this and that and I'm like where'd you hear that? So all roads led back here.
I agree, outside a certain number here, the MC, SR, BR parents all get along. Just a mutual respect for the sacrifices families have to make to keep the Blue a great conference. I respect everyone. I will never speculate, trash a coach or kid. I can't even post a kid's name. You'll see in my posts that I use numbers.
I still believe SR could go 3-6 or 7-2. Yesterday was a great win but nothing's changed. LA next week. You know the Blue, it's a blender.
Looks like the Rita fans stormed the field. I hope the parents didn't join in. Not a big fan of that.
No just whatever students were there 50 , 100? If you watch the UTOO feed, they stay on the celebration longer and a better angle, you can see Coach Kuska telling the students to go back to their seats. Kids were excited. Adults acted like adults. Well I jumped up in the stands and hugged my kids and anyone else around me
I do agree that this site has influence. A couple of former students of mine from the Lyons and Stickney area played for Rita and did convey to me some of the verbiage from this site.
As I stated, I do have all the confidence in Todd and what he is doing with that offense. He deserves to stay as long as he wants. And the kids play very hard for him all the time. The defense hopefully will come around. They have scored a few defensive TD's and have created several TO's, so that is encouraging.
My overall concern is the gradual declining enrollment of the school. Yes, there are many contributing factors to this, but let's just say SR can sell their land and purchase the land around the Agricultural School. And on this new property, there will be a beautiful campus, like the one at 79th and Western.
I guarantee you SR would be pulling kids from Marist and Rice.

Todd is truly a class act and one of most humble and down-to-earth guys you'll ever meet. I am so glad he is representing St. Rita of Cascia.
I don't agree. Certain schools (not MC) use the location as an issue. But the Augustinians serve all communities. The surrounding community respects St. Rita's beautiful 37-acre campus as much as St. Rita respects the hard working families that live in the neighborhood.
You want enrollment higher yet post ideas that aren't going to happen and which make the job of the ones actually pounding-the-pavement for the next generation of Rita men that much more difficult.
I enjoy your posts. You represent Rita very well. I'm guessing this site is followed more closely on the Southside, than any other part of the state. I don't hear too much said about it in my circles. It stands to reason that the site has the most influence on the Southside, because Southside posters are the largest posting contingent on the site. I've always enjoyed the banter back and forth and have learned a lot about the battles on and off the field of the Southside CCL Blue schools.

Exactly. You have to remember, there are like 5 catholic schools (MC, Leo, SR, BR, Marist) in a 15-20 mile radius with strong traditions, big alumni, and a shrinking pot to pull from. Add Naz and SL into the mix and, yes, you can see how this board can be used to manipulate the narrative.

Weren't things going fine in this thread until you posted about DOS bringing you out of retirement and calling him out on his "crap?" And you proceed to make the following comment:
