With Ventura stepping down today, what's the chance that #27 goes elsewhere soon? He's a great kid from a great family. Yes, I have met his parents and all around great humble people.

Well they are keeping the exact same coaching staff minus the head guy. Plus what has JR done in the past 20 years make you believe he would clean house including the trainer?

The only thing that makes #27 go elsewhere would be off the football field but not away from MC. If he's got a guy like Kenny or Hahn saying you're a Top 3 round kid OR if not if the HC at LSU or Stanford says Alek we really don't think you should take the chance then that's the only way I see him not playing football next year.

His father is a huge proponent of playing multiple sports. Is there a chance of injury, of course. Is that chance more important than letting a 17 year play a game he loves???????? not in his fathers eyes.

Feeto - if someone told me that my kid was a surefire Top 3 rounder (where you get a very nice signing bonus AND most top guys get tuition payment plan if they flame out too) OR where a coach like LSU or Stanford are going to give him a full ride (not a partial) on the condition he doesn't jeopardize his arm/leg/etc. Then chances are I would think his parent would look at whether MC was a surefire bet to win 7A next year (which is iffy) or whether chance of injury was high enough or not. More injuries in football than in baseball

Tough choice for the kid; no right or wrong answer in my opinion. He should do what he wants to do and what is best for him personally, both short-term and long-term.
