Just saw on the old youtube that Mt. Carmel switched their defensive coordinator around...any word on that? I can't remember ever having seen that during a season.

No, there’s plenty in the pipeline at the school to fill any vacancies. The current DC coach was a position coach on Varsity with previous role as the JV DC. A coach that shall not be named joined the staff and took his position, but until Friday no one could comment on that without being ridiculed about spreading rumors and to STOP. MC is poached quite often for HC positions elsewhere and usually what happens is someone from the lower level gets promoted and they hire someone new at the FR or JV level. When Lenti was in charge almost all coaches were ex-HC or had been offered HC positions somewhere.

I still can't believe you're being such a Dork and pretending the biggest HS Football story in many years, possibly decades, is a non-story.

I still haven't forgiven or dropped the story of Frank Lenti being fired and that was WAY LESS of a story and screwing a head coach than the TP Providence firing.

So what is the old dc doing now?
He's the LB coach. Still a teacher at MC, still in the athletic department, still on the football staff. Plantz is not the DC, it's Ross, who has been at MC for several years. A new voice was needed and so far it's been working. The former DC is a great coach and well liked, sometimes difficult decisions have to be made. This decision would have been made if Plantz was still at PC. He is helping out and Lynch is helping him out by giving him a position to help keep his mind off what happened. They've known each other since High School.

As far as him bringing players over I expect that he will have a new HC job next season. This was a win/win for all involved putting him on the staff for the remainder of the this season.

Don’t bother. This will be flushed & you banned like 100’s of others which is why the board is not much fun anymore

Him being fired and PC's handling of it was the story, what he chooses to do after that is a big nothing burger.

Someone with more knowledge posted that he is in fact not the DC, but some of you will run with any rumor you hear. You're like a bunch of 13 year old girls, just craving the gossip.

Yes what had happened was Coach _______ was unceremoniously ousted from ______ and then went to MC as a volunteer coach

they are referring to this recent change as the “New Testament Defense”
But that said coach was not the one listed as DC on the video...

Plantz is not the DC.

He was really brought in because he knows the progression of contact days and helmet/heat acclimatization policy and will keep MC compliant next August.

Bad joke, but in all seriousness, someone who has HC experience who can call out a practice calendar in clear violation of the rules is important to have on staff. Still have no idea how that happened this August.

It is a story.
Why? Because a coach is continuing to coach after being fired instead of feeling sorry himself? Is it just because he's at MC? Would it still be a big story if he was volunteering at JCA or one of the Lincoln Way schools? Like I said, the firing and the handling of it was a big story, him continuing to coach, not so much.

Bad joke then you double downed on it. They wore pants a day early. Sorry it bothered you so much that you felt the need to vent about it two months later.

No. It's a story because a fired coach joined another program during a season, then he became that programs DC mid-season (allegedly), weeks after a firing. Right or wrong, that is a story. I can't recall ever seeing something like that. After seeing the weekly video on YouTube, the said coach was not listed as DC, hence my initial post. Stop trying to act as if this is normal.

Really didn't create any competitive advantage. I see it is still "must protect" mode though.

The more former head coaches and administrators you have on staff the less likely stuff like that is to happen. Guys who know the rules and have created schedules for years don't see a calendar and just assume they are to follow it because a head coach handed it to them. They ask questions.

Getting another HC with experience on staff will help with that and I am sure Lynch understands that benefit. It sounds like he recognizes the error and knows it was inexcusable and I am sure adding additional people around him is one more way to help ensure it doesn't happen again.

Really not every observation has to be an affront to a program.

Reasonable people can say that it both didn't create any substantial advantage and also that it is head scratching that such an oversight can happen at a tiny 1A rural school, much less the best program in the state with arguably some of the most competent coaches.

Saban brought in numerous ex-head coaches to use and help them out so this isn't a story...
are you being sarcastic? even CFB or NFL were comparable it was always a big story when he did. there are multiple comprehensive stories from major publications while he was actively coaching about saban's "coach rehabbing" program (NYT 2018 CBS 2021) as well as individual articles regarding specific hires. quick google search reveals major press regarding sark, kiffin, durkin, marrone, and more

So he's not the DC and not saying it's normal, but still not newsworthy. It's rare because HS coaches don't usually get fired mid season, that's the story. Him volunteering elsewhere, not so much outside of the CCL circle.

Why on Earth are you making SO MANY NON-POSTS on this non-thread about a non-story.

If we need help defining what is a good thread, good post, or good story, we'll give you a call. But, WARNING: Do Not Hold your breath waiting for a call, you'll die.

Agreed. Win-Win for all parties involved. PC still has egg on their face for the handling though.

Honest Q, and not trying to start anything. What happened @ the Br. Rice game... was the TV ever replaced? And what is his coaching experience, De La Salle?? Am I getting MC coaches mixed up??

First of all... Every action is a story but who makes them large. Everything that happens on coaching staffs is in some article somewhere... Are they all BIG stories??? But basically its a big story to you because it involves Mighty Mt Carmel... right?!!!
