All jokes aside I have gained a ton of respect for stoops. He’s a damn fighter. I know we are in mediocrity hell but that sumbitch is still swinging haymakers. His players are fighting for his job and publicly saying as much. It’s actually inspiring.

meanwhile somebody needs to do a welfare check on pope.

Man, I’ve hated stoops to the point I feel like I didn’t really enjoy the 10 win seasons. Leaving wins on the table with constant game management and discipline issues just pissed me off to no end… not to mention just being abused by the Vols.

But I’m with you. Watching him get emotional at Auburn touched something in me and I’ve gone all in on him. Even bought the family jerseys lol.

The problem is we get in a habit of picking away at all the mistakes and we never appreciate the good stuff he does. As I have said before, there are plenty of mistakes but he has brought a lot of joy to UK football during his time. I hate to bring this up, but if you go back and watch the tape, there were multiple times in the Florida game this year when we played with 10 guys on defense. I do not understand how that happens, but it does. However, I am a supporter of Stoops. He reminds me of Jerry Claiborne. He is a hard nose physical coach. I sat through the Bill Curry days and that was the absolute rock bottom. I remember Florida running the same play twice from the 28 yard line on the final two plays of the game to beat us in 1993, getting beat 73-7 in 1994, and getting beat 65-0 in 1996. That was a long stretch of losses to Florida during their 31 year run. The Tennessee games were almost as bad. We just were no match for the SEC teams. We went 2 and 5 against Vandy during this time. And to sit through the Joker years was painful. So, I appreciate what Stoops has done here. I never thought I would see Kentucky win 9 games. I remember the years of just hoping to go to a bowl game. Under Stoops we go regularly. I understand we are the underdog in the majority of the teams we play each year, but our guys compete hard.
Go Cats! Let's get number 6.

You’re right. My first game was @ UT in 96, and by the time we made it to the MCB in 06 it felt like I’d wandered the desert for 40 years.

I told the gang I watch games with, its is almost remarkable how these players have stepped up for him and the staff. I havent seen this level of energy on the football field in a long time for this stretch. Guys are flying around out there and and they werent necessarily doing that themselves before and you'd think nothing to play for after the UT loss. But they responded anway and thats damn admirable. And even more amazing when you remember they are all knew here! Gotta give it up to them and Coach.

I mean I'm a little mad at Pope right now but let's be real here we shouldn't be in year 13 of Stoop's tenure praying and hoping to get a win out of the last 2 games to go to some no name bowl game. The dude is paid top ten money in the country we should be fighting for an outside shot of getting into the playoffs in year 13. Dude should be gone after this year no question!

UK will be fighting to get into the playoffs when top HS and portal guys decide they want to play football at UK.
No coach has ever killed it in recruiting here.
We are always deficiant in at least a couple position groups every year.
Doesn't help we play in the most competitive conference in the nation.

Why weren’t they fighting for his job at the beginning of the season, why wait until the end. They should know Stoops is already on the Hot Seat for next year. They better kick butt and take names from the start and win 8-9 games.

I understand this but the mindset has got to change. I'm 46 and I understand I mean all my life minus a few years we have been hot garbage but they let 12 teams into the playoffs with more probably in the future. There is no excuse with IU and Vandy having a chance to get in with IU getting in last year and probably getting in again this year that here at UK that we shouldn't be doing this in year 13 of Stoops tenure! This is why he needs to be gone and we need to start over and to be honest if this team does finish strong like they seem to be doing this is a perfect time to make that change!

Wait..we're back on the Stoops train after beating ****** teams? Sounds about right!
I mean, it is what it is man. May as well be entertained. You've got bush out here dialing up madden plays trying to keep from having to sell his house again. Stoops crying after the Auburn game. Boley and calzada counting invisible money after a tuddy, just leaning into that embarrassing video. We've got players on TV in interviews saying they love their coach and are trying to save his job. When is the last time you saw that? Now we got a real chance to pull two upsets and make a bowl. Who saw that coming? I half expect Stoops to fire up a marlboro during a game. I swear it's about to get weird.

All because we beat 2 mid majors, an FCS and the 2 teams worse than us in our conference. Nah, I don't get entertained from that.

Vandy is going to curbstomp our asses, and I doubt we beat UL @ UL.
