Early in the year, averaging 8 points, 3 assists, and almost a 2-1 assist/turnover margin, shooting 50% from floor, 36% from three. And playing an average of 32+ minutes per game.

He's a little full of himself but I hope he does well.

He's even extreme by today's standard when it comes to needing to be the focus of everyone's attention.

I'm glad I'm not the only on that noticed this, and I don't mean McCabe per se but rather the current standard of people needing to be the focus of everyone's attention. I didn't know if that was just my perception or not. Perhaps it's the product of social media but geez, why do people always feel the need to be the center of attention. It comes off a bit narcissistic.

Last night at Wichita State (a decent team): 11 points 8 assists 4 steals; 3-6 from three.

I guess my point in all this is that he seems like the type that benefits from extended playing time. I'm not downing Huggins and how he does things, but some players just cannot do well if they look over their shoulder after every horn sounding to see if they are subbing out.

I like Jordan and hope he continues to play well.

He had his extended playing time with Huggins and began losing that with poor performance. He under performed against the taller, stronger and more competitive guards in Big 12.

Good luck to him.

How's his defense? All that means bunk if he is still getting blown by on the dribble drive or shot over by the 6'4 guard.

That's true about the offense. Then why did you bring up defense?

Because the post I was responding to seemed to imply that McCabe was doing well elsewhere and WVU may have been worse off for not retaining him. Even this season McCabe's pros do not outweigh his cons and as others have pointed out he is not going up against Big 12 athletes game in and game out as WVU is about to.

Meager offensive numbers like 8-11 ppg and 3-5 assists do not make up for lack of defense like being able to score 20 when you're hot. Neither player is a world beater. McCabe is better at handling the ball than McNeil. He wasn't good enough at it to play point guard for WVU which was the only thing we really needed him for. From both their time at WVU, neither is really a better passer than the other. McCabe is worse on defense if for nothing else other than his lack of size compared to McNeil. 6'4-6-7 players can just shoot over McCabe even if he plays good defense, which he didn't do on a regular basis for WVU. McCabe on his best day is only equal to McNeil on an average day when it comes to defense which is not to praise McNeil's defense. Shooting easily favors McNeil.

Therefore when you brought up McNeil's failings I just wanted to point out they are not really worse than McCabe and his upside is so much better.
