on Wednesday. Spaulding nominated, is he possibly that good? With so many possibilities for us not yet commited this years game will be really interesting. Maybe Briscoe and Newman will get to play together in it.

He's not eligible because (I think) he wasn't on a team at the time of the initial selections.Originally posted by ZaytovenCat:
Is Skal not nominated? Is he not eligible?
could add Mel Turpin, Walter McCarty, Nazr, and Magloire to that list as well.Originally posted by Son_Of_Saul:

Kentucky's non-McDonald's All-Americans have turned out pretty good, though:
John Wall
Eric Bledsoe
Derek Anderson
Jodie Meeks
Jamal Mashburn
Nerlens Noel
Willie Cauley-Stein
Skal Labissierre
I read that and the first thing I thought was how would Tipton twist this announcement:Originally posted by UKvisitor:

FYI, Holman from Owensboro is going to Prep school next year; Hargrave, I think. Will do him a lot of good.Originally posted by wldctky:

It's correct, but...slightly deceptive, at least with the recent guys. Wall wasn't eligible for the Mickey D game because he was a 5th year player. Noel reclassified too late to qualify for the game (going into 11-12, he was listed as a junior). Labissiere basically doesn't have a HS team because of the shenanigans of his guardian. Their absences had nothing to do with any assessment of their ability. All were (are, in Labissiere's case) top 5 players.Originally posted by Graves51:
If the lists of Cats is ( Wall, etc.) that were not McDonalds AA is correct, then they might as well not put much stock into who is. I have heard it said that anyone Duke is recruiting turns into McDAAs overnight.
I doubt he makes it.Originally posted by gossie21:
McD's AA is still the most prestigious list, but the Nike Hoops Summit and Jordan Brand rosters are still open. I'm sure Skal will make both, Matthews still has a shot at the Jordan Roster.
