Didn’t the Adams brothers leave too around the time of the bow game or shorty after? And also DB Kevin Williams

McDougle leaving to play at a school that runs different defensive scheme that allows him attempts at more sack opportunities.

All the players that left are not good enough. This is the first loss but he’s 5-9 and Utah ran down his throat. Stills would have beat him out.

We need to stop recruiting Florida. Total waste of time and money. We can find better WV kids. We need to recruit WV and the border states like PA, OH, MD, KY, VA. Get out of Florida. Florida recruits are either trouble or self entitled idiots, punks.

We recruited Geno, Steadman 10 years ago and that was the last leg of real Florida talent that worked out for us. Ever since it’s been mostly guys that haven’t worked out or left for various reasons. Dana himself has stated that they were going to get away from Florida. Too many flip flop recruits as well. No commitment and games during the process.

Bottom line is Florida hasn’t been good to us anymore. We don’t need to waste the resources recruiting there if we no longer get good players from there. Old days are gone. Florida boys fit in better down south. We need to recruit our border states and get tougher boys.

Don’t think it wise to paint all of Fl with same brush. Every case can be different and if the talent & interest are there, we should consider it. Especially if there is a position of need (like CB or DT this year) & the recruit takes an unofficial. Maybe we should just go there for special needs. But I think Fl should still be recruited.

McDougle earned a starting role in the middle of WVU's defensive line as a true freshman, which is rare, and the local media showered him with praise for his high motor and having become a difficult man to move in the run game. Add to this the fact that WVU has very few quality D-Lineman, and this is a major loss.

You could say that JuCo kids are too. Play for essentially 1 year after spending 1 of the 2 remaining seasons learning the scheme. But I'm willing to bet that we'd be in trouble without them.

Where exactly are you going to find better kids in WV? There are only a couple a year that are good enough and not all of them will want to stay in state. You can’t focus on recruiting your state when there isn’t enough talent there.

Coach Gibson and that 3-3-5 is the downfall of this program, Harvey & McDougle(Shoulder) & Shuler(Back). Those got tried of getting banged up in that defense. Coach Gibson stubbornness of not evolving to the talent of his players, instead of making the players adapt to his defense. Tennessee is going to pound the ball and keep the ball away from West Virginia offense. And that’s is going to be the blueprint for the season. After 5-7 season this will be Dana & hopefully Coach Gibson last season.

He’s not a power 5 nose guard and he got ran on pretty easy. He only started because we had nobody else. Stills moved there and is a year older now and was going to take McDougals job. We also got better true freshmen coming that are taller, bigger, stronger, more talented.

A 5-9 nose guard isn’t going to keep a starting job long here. He was not a Big 12, WVU level nose guard. He was going to end up backing up. Not the answer. Utah pummeled him and ran down his throat. He was horrible against run.

If all these players were no good then why did we recruit them in the first place, and you can say what you want but we need the dline depth no matter if Utah ran down his throat. We needed the body.

This is bad. What once looked like a defensive strength is turning into a disaster. I hope Gibson can find a solution with the incoming freshmen and youth of this defensive line.

At 5'9 and 290 a 3-3 is the only defense he could succeed in. If he has to line up in a 1,3 Tech. he will never play.

You are crazy not to recruit Florida! You need to recruit the schools that you can count on. I was ridiculed for trying to promote a kid from my school in last year's class. Jordan Redmond (Virginia commit), Dion Bergan (Wake Forest Commit), both are Defensive Lineman. Their graduating class went 46-6 in. 8A football in Florida, which is the largest classification in FL., so they have played against some pretty good talent. You have a HC at a high school in FL. that is a die hard WVU fan, and you don't recruit that school? I will continue to try to send quality players to WVU. You might want to look at Mario Kendricks class of 2019.

The sunshine state doesn’t work for Dana and his staff. Also why not get a cornerback coach that actually wants to be here. It’s a constant revolving door job here. They hire some southern guy that leaves every year or looks to leave every year. He isn’t here long enough to recruit much or build ties. Maybe get a former WVU guy that loves WVU.

The pipeline with Florida is dry like the desert. It’s over. Is it Dana fault? Could be several factors.

What I find interesting is our current # of scholarships that are not filled. Wasn't that the issue when Holgorson took the job?

Leave a few open for grad transfers that can help immediately. Like the former 5 star DT we just got today. Can’t you find something better to ***** about?
