Don't follow this sport at all. This Nate dude, just look at him, he lost. I thought he was weak physically. Did he ever in any round throw something that hurt the other guy? I didn't see it. To me, and it's pathetic but the Conner dude was wore out by third round. He's not an athlete if that's as long as he can last. The Nate dude at least was in shape even though he can't fight worth a ****. Again, I don't watch this stuff but if those two are some of the best I'm not missing much. I'm going to bet most think that disgusting blood pouring out and the trouble the other guy went to avoid it came across as Nate accomplishing something. Imo they both need to get their *** off drugs and train before fighting.
McGregor was fighting 25lb heavier than he normally fights so that had a major impact on his stamina. Next fight will be at 155 is only 10lb heavier than his normal fights. You will see a better stamina from him at a more normal weight. Wears a guy out slinging punches that would usually knock out a 145lb guy, but does half the damage against a 170lber

Conner's takedown defense impressed me the most. Was not expecting that. And everyone saying Diaz won round 5 because of the late takedown must be forgetting that Mcgregor had a takedown that round too. He wasn't able to capitalize on it, but a takedown none the less.

Exactly. McGregor was more efficient most of that round but because Diaz loved on him against the cage the last part and took him down people want to say it's clear cut Diaz winning the round. This was a close fight. If either guy was announced I would not have been shocked or disappointed. Can't wait for the rubber at 155.

@JohnBlue_ i can understand how you didn't get it if you don't follow the sport but Nate has great jui jitsu and wants to go to the ground while McGregor wants to slug it out. So Nate didn't get to fight his style and Connor did a wonderful job staying up right. I mean hell, Nate faked being knocked down trying to lure McGregor into a ground game hoping he'd go in for the kill at one point. Great fight.

False about Diaz pressing more and landing more. This was an extremely even fight with McGregor dominating the first 8 out of 10 minutes and the rest was dead even with Diaz looking like he got an ax to the face. Quit bitchin'!

The fight stats show that Diaz landed two more significant strikes and 55 more total strikes. So, I think it's fair to say that Diaz landed more. And yes, from the later stages of round 2 through the rest of the fight, Diaz was more agressive. How many times did Conner turn his back to Nate and jog to the other side of the ring to avoid contact and try to get a breather?

With all that said, it was a very close fight and I can't complain about McGregor winning as it could have gone either way. McGregor did have three knockdowns (not sure how much Nate was trying to bait him to the ground) but was never close to being stopped, IMO. However, McGregor was in serious danger at the end of the 3rd and it looked like Big John was pretty close to stepping in and stopping the fight. If the 3rd round went another 30 seconds then the fight probably gets stopped.

I think Nate lost the fight in the 4th though. McGregor was hurt and winded. I'm surprised Nate did pressure him more in the 4th as that round ended up being a toss-up, with the judges giving it to Conner.

Hopefully they do this one more time!

At 155 I don't think this will be as good of a fight as McGregor will have much more stamina. Anything can happen though.

I think McGregor should've won the 1st round by 2 points. Diaz got worked technically, and McGregor landed some nasty lefts on him.

Also, I don't think people can underestimate how impressive McGregor's grapple defense was. That was probably enough to give him the 5th. The 5th was truly a toss-up....hard to argue with either winning. That said, I thought the take-down at the end would swing in Diaz's favor.

McGregor won and i am not going to say that is wrong, but i don't know. I felt the fight more was a draw than anything. Nate was the more willing to fight. I don't know how many times Nate would go in at McGregor to have McGregor run away. I know that is probably smart from McGregor, but he is supposed to be the stand up and throw punches fighter. Nate is the ground guy. It didn't seem like McGregor wanted to stand and throw with Nate. It's a good fight between these two so i am sure we will get to see it happen a third time! If Nate drops down to that weight i don't think it will be an exciting fight like this last one. McGregor will most likely finish Nate by round 3 if Nate drops down to that weight.

You would have to think Mcgregor breaking his foot has a little something to do with the outcome,, no ?

Diaz got robbed. He pressed most of the action after round 1. Diaz landed a lot more strikes. No f'ing way Mcgregor won that fight.

Umm, false. Diaz landed 2 more significant strikes, not a lot, while throwing 200 more, plus they had nothing on them, look at their faces after the fight and it shows who won/lost.
