Here is the big statistic for the game

DeLasalle has beaten 5 teams that have one a conbination of 2 wins going into friday night. Having seen them play they are big but slow up front ant their QB does not throw with any touch. They beat a very bad Niles North only by 2 plus scores.

I see Montini winning by 2 or 3 TD because they are still a good football team and their backs are against the wall.

What are your thoughts on this game?

If Montini loses this game they are out of the playoffs.

DeLaSalle - 200 points scored 46 points against
Montini - 66 points scored 142 points against

At the start of the season I thought the big game for Montini would be Mount Carmel. Now you are right again about this being the biggest game for Montini so far this year. From what I have seen so far with Montini they will need to show a lot more on defense and offense if they hope to beat DLS. Didn't know about DLS winning their games against losing teams but a win is a win and Montini only has two decent wins so far this year. The three losses were beat downs and hard to watch but hopefully the coaching staff is starting to see who is playing well and who isn't and making the adjustments that need to be made. Montini can beat DLS but it will take a total team effort and less predictability on both offense and defense.

This should be a great game, DLS should be 5-0 and have made unbelievable strides in two years. Niles North was a quarterfinal team last year and returned 15 starters. If you were at the Niles North game DLS was inside the 10 three times and came away with no points. I'll take DLS and the points in this one. Go Meteors!

BigGroff,

I agree. I was in Wheaton watching the game Friday and I think that you have Delasalle right. They have some size and speed and their qb is a very good athlete. He's not a great passer and he's not a deep passer, but he pretty good with short passes and is very mobile and will give Montini some trouble.

If Montini can get a ground game going, they will win. I still think this will be a real close game.

Bronco will be fortunate to win this one. it will be close. Bronco has the athletes to win, with or without their D1 running back. lets see if they can put it all together. I think the young Defense gets better every week as they get more experience, lets see if they can qualify to play more than 9 games.

DLS has a nice running back #21 - very quick and agile. I was told he is an all-state wrestler? He will get a lot of carries. DLS is a quality, balanced team but not as good as their 5-0 record indicates. Should be a good game.

Actually, looking at DLS and Broncos schedules, the first 4 games could not be more opposite. We will have to see if a tough first 4 games for Bronco actually helps them this week. Or, just gave them 3 big losses vs. Meteors 5 wins vs lessor competition.

To answer a question, De La Salle's #21 - Devin Michicich - is a state wrestler. Tough kid who plays with a great heart.

This will be a fun game. Montini has a phenomenal program and awesome tradition. The D kids deserve to be 5-0. If they didn't beat the teams on their schedule, then people wouldn't think anything of them. They beat the teams on their schedule and people still have questions.

One thing for certain is that the D kids will show up Friday night. It's their first home game in three weeks and they'll be ready. If anyone is looking for one D kid upon which to focus, take a look at #13 Joe Bonds, a junior who plays linebacker and safety. When this young man is playing in meaningful games on the Big Ten Network in 2-3 years, remember that you saw him playing at De La Salle.

Go Meteors!

I'm not into predicting who will win or lose. I'm a bronco fan and would like to see them win this one. Their backs are against the wall and they need to win three of the next four to get into the playoffs. Don't like to look ahead but Montini has a Mount Carmel game coming up Oct 14, which will also be a tough one. It should be a good game as both schools have some good athletes. Both our offense and defense has had their struggles. Three really bad games and two pretty decent games so which Montini team will show up for this one.

Bronco needs this one. I think they get it!!

If they can make it into the 6A playoffs,... I think they make a deep run there as well.
