Like what the saw from Newell today. Seems stout at the point of attack. Greg Mc is a big loss but the yougins now have more reps to develop. Stoltenberg's return and development is crucial

You can't knock Greg in this situation. Alot of factors come into play that none of will probably ever know.

That being that case all the physical tools and talent in the world don't mean much if your heart and mind is not in the game at this point.

Situations like these are why kids used to sit on the sidelines for 3 years at Nebraska when they know they could start for 3 years at Iowa State or Kansas. This is why kids decline a FCS scholarship for a chance to walk on at Nebraska, for the opportunity to wait for your shot to play with that N on the side of their helmet. All McMullen's decision did was open the door for another kid to prove himself at one of the blue blood programs in the country.

Good luck to Greg McMullen, thank you for everything you have done for the University. I am excited to see who takes it upon themselves to step up and sieze this wonderful opportunity.

Sucks for us, but I have respect for him. He obviously has a plan for himself in life.

Bummer that he's leaving the D-Line even thinner but you have to respect the man's decision to continue on education. Good luck G Mac. Time for Parrella to earn his check and I think he's gonna rock the house.

I feel sick for this season now. We know there are going to be injuries, potential season ending injuries. I'm excited about the future but man does this hurt. We knew #90 was going to play the most snaps of the DTs and he has proven durable unlike K. Williams or Maurice. Stoltenburg's (sp) return is critical now.

Our season could hinge on the health of the defensive tackles.

Paul Thurston got screwed IMO! Guy played lights out in our last 2 bowl games and right away they move Utter to Center SMH!!

Ummmm they moved Utter to center because Thurston was going to miss most of the spring practices AND I'm guessing that Riley had a feeling that Thurston wanted to leave. I thought Thurston played well too but there's something else going on with him besides football because he likely would have started for us this fall.

It would seem that those in charge of roster management chose wisely. What the coaches want is different than what they have to make plans for. Barney Cotton described Utter as a junkyard dog. Cav loves him too. A kid that competes every day. No half assed efforts when he is on the field. Put the Utter mindset in the brain of a kid with more talent and you have an All-American.

One would assume the coaches are exploring other defensive schemes, especially since linebacker appears to be a strength.

He only came to three practices this spring, mentally he was already out of the door

To bad. I wish and thank these guys for giving their best.

Odd feeling to say that we lost all four or our top DT's from last season (and that they were all eligible to return). HH had to be a factor in some ways here (I think Hank knew he wasn't going to be here for more than a yr or two and that our players picked up on that...)
