Iowa already has a receiver's coachWould love if he were to become our WR coach. Then Budmayr can be promoted to Senior Waterboy.
JFC, no.Would love if he were to become our WR coach.
Great player does not necessarily translate to great coach.Would love if he were to become our WR coach. Then Budmayr can be promoted to Senior Waterboy.
Do they? Or do they have somebody with that title, kinda like when somebody named Brian Ferentz was the OC and--yes--QB coach.Iowa already has a receiver's coach
Poor player and poor talent evaluator and inexperienced at the position doesn't necessarily translate to a great coach either, is that right?Great player does not necessarily translate to great coach.
Are you talking about MSU's Tom Izzo?if his behavior coaching youth sports is any indicator, he doesn’t have right temperament
Not even close
Not a good effort, come up with a football comparison for your perpetually negative posts. Are you talking about MSU's Tom Izzo?![]()
Tell that to Brian FerentzSay it again: just cause a guy played here doesn’t mean he has to coach here
There are too many examples of this happening to count, and not just for Iowa. And while we all like to see former players come back to coach at Iowa we certainly want Kirk to hire the best candidate who interviews for the job.Great player does not necessarily translate to great coach.
There is high school recruiting now if a town / school really wants to winI mean, he isn't going to win at Keokuk anyway. James Vandeburg isn't walking through the door. (Wasn't that where he was from?)
This current program actually owes a lot to Brian. He sacrificed his reputation to go full rebuild mode for the program.Tell that to Brian Ferentz
No.This current program actually owes a lot to Brian. He sacrificed his reputation to go full rebuild mode for the program.
He got to reap none of it's benefits, gets no credit for it, and instead has had a completely negative and inaccurate narrative attached to him.
Also deserves credit for completely leaning into the defense and special teams with his every decision in '22 and '23, which was the only way Iowa was going to win games in those seasons.
Pretty disgusting what fans turned that all into
Educate yourself
I am fine, Thanks... & I am not going to sit on here and argue with someone like you.Educate yourself
Then what was your reason for post #21?I am fine, Thanks... & I am not going to sit on here and argue with someone like you.
Everyone here thinks you are a special needs person. Tommy from DSM cringes at the crap you type...Then what was your reason for post #21?
I don't have time to educate you tonight anyway.
If you're ok with being wrong about something, that's your choice. Just keep it to yourself
Tommy is dead.Everyone here thinks you are a special needs person. Tommy from DSM cringes at the crap you type...
He needs to stop posting like a moron. Most here are tired of his takes and shtick... Eyes is an embarrassment to our fan base! Both of you need to grow up. Everyone on here is tired of listening to you two complain about each other like grade school kids.....
That's unfortunate, RIP Tommy... however, he and eyes must come from the same bloodlines.Tommy is dead.
Stop. This current program actually owes a lot to Lester. He sacrificed his reputation to go full rebuild mode for the program.
Pretty disgusting what Brian turned the offense into
“What the offense "turned into" in '22 had almost nothing to do with Brian.”Stop.
Most of the rebuild to the O-line had already taken place. Kirk told us that the offense would take a big jump in '24, BEFORE Lester was hired, because he knew the O-line would be in a good place.
Yes, Lester also brought stuff that was helpful.
But he's a football guy. I'm sure through his interviews with KF, he came to understand that the O-line would no longer be broken. So it's more than a stretch to infer that Lester "sacrificed" anything to move from an analyst to a Big Ten OC. I'm guessing the pay jump was also consistent with that.
Educate yourself, 2Dense. What the offense "turned into" in '22 had almost nothing to do with Brian.
Answer one easy question. Do you recall seeing the O-line in '22 able to get any forward push at all at the line of scrimmage?
Now, either research the circumstances that led to such a raw and underdeveloped O-line in '22. Or choose to believe that those circumstances had almost nothing to do with BF, as I have delineated on here for years
Sounds like McNutt's time in Keokuk is done or near the end. Any word if he's headed to IC??
Does anyone know why he left? Took another job or something else.People may want to look into why he will no longer be involved with high school student athletes in Keokuk before wondering if he'd be a good fit at Iowa.
It’s pretty disgusting what Brian brought to the table as Iowa’s offensive coordinator.Pretty disgusting what fans turned that all into
