Let's start by saying that I'm a Carmel guy, but I'll try to be as nonpartisan as possible.
First of all lets talk about parking. I parked on Dorchester, about a block and a half away from the school. No problems, and I was out of my spot and on my way home 5 minutes after the game.
When I walked into the field area I was greeted by the happiest people (granted many of them were my friends) I've ever seen at a ticket gate. I WAS NOT WANDED AT THE GATE!!!!!!! The smell of the bar-b-ques was amazing, and I had a very good sausage sandwich. Not quite a Gately Dog, but what is? I headed to the South bleachers, climbed about 5 or 6 stairs, and made my way to a seat in the 4th row at about mid-field. I felt like I was actually sitting on the field. Honestly, it was the best seat I've ever had for a high school football game. There were seats on the home side from the 10 to the 10. The visitors side had seats from the 30 to the 30, about 10 rows high. There was also a large set of bleachers (about 15-20 rows) in the east end zone, with a very ruckus student section. The only negative I have, is that it would really be crowded for a big game. I'd say the the max seating is about 25 to 27 hundred. From what I'm hearing, the plan is to expand the seating capacity next year by removing the temporary seats on the North side and build new, permanent stands. I had a great night, and thank everyone at MC for making the reality of a true home game happen.
