We NEED him to make a CJ Johnson type impact. Do I expect it? No. It could happen though and if it doesn't happen I feel like we're pretty screwed on the DL given our depth.
Meant and miggins started when healthy last year. I think our depth is a real concern but Elam, meant, and miggins are as good of a front 3 as we've had in all but a few years.

What's the big deal...UK does have a football and basketball team and many fans follow both teams.
To the point, Meant hasn't been a difference maker (and in spring drills he's been very pedestrian as well)..so it's hard to make a case he'll ever be much at the DT spot. But if he can be solid vs. the run..he can at least be serviceable IMO.

I've "lurked" on the forums for awhile and I've mostly noticed that the people with some type of picture of Kentucky Basketball as their profile picture do nothing but bash the football program.

I have season tickets to UK Baseball, UK Softball too.

You're the one judging others and their knowledge of the game of football based on their profile picture. You're either very ignorant or very immature. I'm guessing both.
In basketball our players look like Tarzans and play like it, in football we have had most of our team look like Jane and play like her. I'm not sure what else we should have expected with the level of support the two sports were given in most of the past.
Hopefully that has undergone a huge change------and I"m not predicting our basketball program is going down.
I love all UK sports, love the increased competitiveness in baseball, women's bb, softball, even track, just some of the sports we have made giant strides in.
Meant will be a junior this year and was very good last year before injury. I am not sure why anybody thinks he sucks but he does not. He actually beat out Cory Johnson before he got hurt.
I think its mostly other fans devisivness like yours that pushes others away. I know some cat fans in basketball but root for another team in football because they want to root for a winner. Down here in tenn you will see guys wearing bama/ UT/ Auburn/ Ole Miss shirts with a UK hat. Talking to them they follow UK basketball for the same reasons. Many of those type of fans will root for Duke or UNC in basketball as well.
Most people want to be associated with winners. Elections are the same way.
