No doubt about the ac, but I was having a similar conversation with my mom and aunt recently. They mentioned growing up, only the kitchen had ac and all the kids slept in one room, windows opened. They both agreed that wouldn't be viable with today's heat and humidity. Granted, kids (esp. then) are more adaptable, but it's hard to get well rested if you're laying in a room while it's a balmy and muggy 82 degrees at 11 pm. There were obviously hot days in the 60s/70s, but I do believe things are heating up. Why? Who the hell knows, but I've begun dreading summer.
