Just as I stated last week, if Hoggard can play a clean game they will win. They sure looked like a team that has turned the corner last week. This team has players but they aren't good enough to beat good teams when they play poorly. I hope they keep the good play going.

West Brunswick @ Hoggard - West Brunswick continues to dominate behind McCray and a strong offensive line. The Trojans like to run a lot which was ... was a problem for the Hoggard defense. If Hoggard can hold McCray in check ... expect short safe passed from West Brunswick. The Vikings have been more of a running team of late and it paid off with a couple long drives against a athletic Laney defense. I think Hoggard being at home figures a way to win again

Ashley @ New Hanover - New Hanover little roll came to bad ending last week against West Brunswick. Turnovers and penalties cost the Wildcats several opportunities. Ashley got back in win column last week over South Brunswick. The QB for Ashley had success throwing the ball last week and will need to do it that again to have a chance against New Hanover. Ashley has only beaten the Wildcats once and that was over a decade ago. The wait continues for the Screaming Eagles .... Wildcats by a couple TDs

Topsail @ South Brunswick - Topsail is coming in this game with a little momentum after beating Ashley, but that was two weeks ago. South Brunswick got hammered again last week and the offensive woes continue. Will the lay off hurt the Pirates? I don't think so as Topsail goes on to take this one.

What a game at Hoggard Friday night. Two teams played at a high level. Turnovers were the difference in this game, WB had 2 and Hoggard had 0. The Int was a big momentum changer. WB and ran the ball with great success and scored 2 TD and then started throwing the ball and Hoggard picked it off near mid field and scored off the turnover. Hoggard played cleaned again and with the win they are now in a 3 way tie at the top of the conf( In the loss column). WB has a fine team and has a good chance to make a deep run in the playoffs if they stay healthy. I hope the WB center is ok, they carted him off with a leg injury. The WB - Laney game should be a great game this week. Hoggard has AHS and Topsail remaining on their scd and should finish 5-1 in conf play. WB will have Laney at home for their last conf game. If they win they will be in the clubhouse at 5-1.
It seems AHS has run out of steam. The injuries they have incurred has really set them back. Ashley could be looking at a playoff spot if they played and beaten a weak White Oak team and if they had held on to beat Topsail. That has to sting a bit for them. NH looks to have bounced back nicely after their loss to WB. NH has Topsail and SB left on their scd so 5-1 will be their conf record.
I picked Topsail to beat SB but I did not expect this score. I think SB has run out of what steam they had left too. SB has a bye and then finished with NH. Topsail has NH this week and Hoggard to end the regular season.
