Trump started the war. This reminds me of the Rosie O'Donnell-Trump thing. Rosie started that twitter war and then she lost because Trump was more clever than her and better at getting power, yadda, yadda. But Trump didn't start the war. Rosie did. If you start a war you have to be prepared to live with the consequences. Trump started the war with the media.

That doesn't justify their outright blatant lying about him or "making up" stories to try and discredit him. That list is unconscionable.

So is this latest story about alleged WH interference into the FBI's investigation into Russian contact with Trump associates during the election. It's not true and it's uncalled for. (btw it's not true because even the FBI denies the allegation)

Yes it does. He started a war where outright blatant lying and making up stories is okay. He changed the rules and now the media is playing by them.

OK...so if you agree Op2 they're lying about him, stop getting upset when those of us on the Right call out their "fake news". You can't have it both ways.

No, the media stated it. 91% negative coverage during the general election. Fake news every day.

You've just exposed yourself. Justifying the media's corruption. Justifying the media's fake news stories. Thanks.

Biggest crybaby prez ever, no one else can compare. Sad Donnie!

I thought Obama was thin skinned, and he was. But Trump has taken it to a new level. And the media is going down that drain with him.

You're delusional Op2. I know you hate Trump, but you are actually justifying Media lying about him?

Shame on you.

I don't hate Trump or maybe you could say I hate him but much, much less than others. I have to say that although I think it would have been better for the country had Hilary won, I get some satisfaction out of seeing hard core intolerant left (including where I live) go absolutely nuts over Trump winning. There was a big political correctness thing we were going to have to deal with eventually and Trump brought that to the fore.

That said, again, Trump started this "any lie goes" war with the media. Trump point blank lied plenty and he also labeled non-lies about him as lies. And has declared war on the media. And that's how we are where we are.

No, we are at a further point as per your post. The media is responding in kind by lying as well. Very telling that you acknowledged fake news.

What Lie has been told about Trump? Almost none of the examples were fake news. There were some mistakes but those were immediately corrected.

I agree with you about the intolerant Left (you're about to see an open Civil war among them over Ellison as DNC Chair) but I disagree with you about Trump "starting" the lying.

The Media has had it out for Trump since he opened his mouth last Summer announcing his candidacy, and nothing he says is ever reported accurately. It's disgusting, and I'm surprised you are willing to accept even half of it.

If Trump were out their blatantly lying to the American people do you think he'd have the support among folks such as myself? There are many accusations about him of course which he denies, but if he is flat out lying to us do you really think we'd stand for it?

Your disagreements with him do not constitute "lies". If he mistakenly refers to something, or misses an important point while trying to explain something in a larger context that's not him lying.

The Media saying he met with Russians to influence the election results is lying about him, and it is totally unacceptable.

He did not meet with Russians or arrange to have them influence the election results. That is a flat out lie, and "fake news".

Believe it or not, sometimes when Trump says "XYZ" and the media says XYZ isn't true...sometimes the media is right. Yes, really.

And lest we forget, the whole way Trump got his name into national politics about five years ago in the first place was by lying about Obama's birthplace.

Op2 Trump didn't "lie" about Obama's birth certificate. There were legitimate questions (later answered) about his natural birth place and remember Hillary is the one who first raised them!

Was she lying?

I'm positive that I'm misunderstanding you. Surely you aren't suggesting that it's ok for journalists to lie and fraudulently report news? That's not what you are saying, right?

I asked him essentially the same question earlier in this thread and he didn't deny it, he simply said "Trump started it".

Unreal.

OP, if the very same media that almost daily calls Trump a liar had made similar comments when Obama lied through his teeth to sell Obamacare, then they would have more credibility. They never called him a liar even though he and they both knew he was lying.

They even let him get away with the Benghazi lies. He said he called it a terror attack on Day 1 after the attack. He did not and Candy Crowley even lied herself during the Romney debate to protect Obama.

I've read accounts people that like Hilary (not her actual people) started it and other accounts that said otherwise. That's irrelevant though. It was long since settled when Trump started it again in 2012.

I'm not necessarily saying it's right but I'm saying it's understandable. Trump made a new set of rules and he media are playing by them. Whether the rules are good rules is a separate question.

You are just so wrong about this Op2, but whatever. I don't watch the Media because I don't trust them or believe them.

You do?

That depends on what you call the media. If you don't read any media then how do you know anything? I don't have cable TV.

It never died in the sense that it never completely was stopped talking about, but it was settled definitively in 2008 or maybe 2007.

You have a poor memory. It was not settled until Obama actually produced the birth certificate in 2011. Clinton started this whole thing. Obama finally ended it when he produced his long form birth certificate.

The major Broadcast media (ABC,NBC,CBS,CNN, MSNBC, NYT, Wash Post, AP) I posted my "go to" list on here a few days ago, and I think I'm as informed or better informed than almost anyone relying on those folks for their information.

The media is supposed to have one set of rules, to report the facts. Not their opinion, not slanting the news to fit their agendas, simply report the facts. Regardless of what Trump does or doesn't do, their mission should not change.

Read the quotes from Joseph Pulitzer. He would be appalled.

It was settled before Obama ran for POTUS because before he ran for POTUS he had to prove he was born in the US. The circus in 2011 had nothing to do with that.

The Dems may have thought it settled after Hillary raised the issue. But until he actually produced his long form birth certificate in 2011, it was still an issue on the conservative side. I guess it depends upon which side of the aisle you sit on.

From the legal side and the truth side it was settled before Obama ran for POTUS. But of course, anyone is free to disbelieve anything. I can believe man didn't walk on the Moon if I want but it has still long been settled.
