Dave, I take it saying these things is irony, because so many liberals assume everyone on the right is racist? It's like payback? Or is it a reference to racist sentiments expressed by liberals?Huge surprise.....another racist liberal.
I cannot see a scenario where my statement could be more clear. The liberal who made that comment is a racist.Dave, I take it saying these things is irony, because so many liberals assume everyone on the right is racist? It's like payback? I was just asking. I wasn't implying anything.I cannot see a scenario where my statement could be more clear. The liberal who made that comment is a racist.
The reason I ask is that I do believe racism exists in many areas and minds (left - right, business - activism), but just like conservative thinkers liberalism doesn't promote racism in any way. Many on the left seek to aggressively dismantle a system that for generations was designed to oppress minorities. I am seeing that the right does as well (just not aggressively, and through means of simply protecting uniform rights). Many on the left mistake the right's lack of aggressiveness as "racism" rhetoric hidden behind political ideology. There is an anger that although justified in historic terms, is often not correctly directed at the right people.I cannot see a scenario where my statement could be more clear. The liberal who made that comment is a racist.
Frankly, it's all noise to me. I tuned out the victim political agendas about 10 years ago. You don't like your situation, make a change. The second you try to blame someone or something else? Ignored. The reason I ask is that I do believe racism exists in many areas and minds (left - right, business - activism), but just like conservative thinkers liberalism doesn't promote racism in any way. I get that, I do. I think people from WV understand this more than many areas in the US. There are arguments for a systemic problem still affecting public schools among other avenues to success. I most certainly think the aggressiveness is not needed, and I think incendiary language is just counterproductive. But my skin color doesn't allow me an accurate vision of the problem today.Frankly, it's all noise to me. I tuned out the victim political agendas about 10 years ago. Thats an interesting take. If I call you a racist does it mean you accept it as fact?. But my skin color doesn't allow me an accurate vision of the problem today.
Not at all. I am just saying that I understand the reason for the anger, but I couldn't possibly understand the anger itself. Maybe you don't believe there were ever systems of designed oppression of minorities in the US? Or maybe you feel these systems were eradicated long ago and no longer need to be addressed by policy or attitudes? I think Trump symbolizes a "white backlash" to many minorities. An observation that isn't exactly crazy considering the campaign slogan, the attack of how being PC has hurt the nation, and the support Trump received from the alt right and white nationalist groups.Thats an interesting take. If I call you a racist does it mean you accept it as fact?
Campaign slogan? Thats a real head scratcher. Not at all. I am just saying that I understand the reason for the anger, but I couldn't possibly understand the anger itself. Make America Great Again? Like back in the 50's when minorities knew their place?Campaign slogan? Thats a real head scratcher.
LMAO.....Simply......Unbelievable.Make America Great Again? Like back in the 50's when minorities knew their place?

What did it mean to you? And many believe that Reagan's campaign for "States Rights" was a campaign to return racist principles to economic systems. It was admitted to being a strategy used by the campaign to win over southern voters.Campaign slogan? Thats a real head scratcher.

That slogan was used by Reagan in 1980No, more like 15 years ago when people had jobs.
Or more like reversing the trend of putting globalist agendas ahead of US agendas. The back in the 50's comment is a Leftist hyperbolic narrative. You are better than that. No one is advocating a return to Jim Crow or ending Women's suffrage. To suggest so is simply ridiculous.Make America Great Again? Like back in the 50's when minorities knew their place?
Founding a nation on an industry of slavery has a little something to do with it for me personally. Why is everything about race with you people?

The Whitelash isn't what is being discussed. The Whitelash is more accurately characterized as people no longer going to be cowered from meaningful debate by accepting the throwing around of unfounded and baseless accusations when losing your position in the debate. I'm not a racist just because I believe there are problems within the inner city. You might call me a classist, but all I want is for people to fvcking behave and be productive members of society. That's not racism. Not at all. I am just saying that I understand the reason for the anger, but I couldn't possibly understand the anger itself. Just a campaign slogan......And now you are trying to link Reagan to racism.......this is a useless dialogue. What did it mean to you? And many believe that Reagan's campaign for "States Rights" was a campaign to return racist principles to economic systems. I'm not suggesting so....I'm saying I understand the reason for anger (previous post) although I believe it's misdirected at the right for what is mistaken as a racist policy. Where instead, the right simply seeks equality through equal protection of individual rights. I don't think there is a call to return to an economically loaded system, I'm saying the symbolic hatred of Trump isn't ridiculous if you look at certain facts of history and components of his support and campaign.Or more like reversing the trend of putting globalist agendas ahead of US agendas. So what? I think everyone can acknowledge that pre-1960s the entire planet was pretty fvcked up. All nations were founded on slavery. It phased out. We became more informed and more moral. I'm not applying today's morality to what happened from the dawn of existence to only 60 years ago. We had an awakening and enlightenment period. It won't go back, and no one wants it to go back.Founding a nation on an industry of slavery has a little something to do with it for me personally.
No one is advocating ... ending Women's suffrage
I refuse to accept or even give a platform to the notion of racism being accepted and condoned by the right just because the Klan supported Trump. He has come out against them numerous times and within days of David Duke stating he supported him. To whit, I say, so what? The left tried using this as they always do by playing victimization politics. I see those who want to preserve their position of moral superiority lapped it right up. The left continues to perpetrate a false narrative and frankly I'm really disappointed in the leadership on the left not curtailing this ********.I'm not suggesting so....I'm saying I understand the reason for anger (previous post) although I believe it's misdirected at the right for what is mistaken as a racist policy. If only America could be run like your youth football team. Kudos, you are a true American Hero.Really? Because when I have blacks, whites, and hispanics on my football team I truly don't care about the founding of the nation. I put the best resource in the best position to win the game no matter who they are.
Fair enough, I retract my comment and position. Make me a sandwich!!Not so fast .... it's pretty clear that things started going down hill after they got to vote ... should have never happened.

Why is it though that so many on the right lash out at liberals for never accepting perspectives different than their own, yet when I offer a different perspective (that isn't my own, btw) and isn't ridiculous, it is dismissed immediately as unfounded? Some people think this way, it might not be correct, but it is an opinion that is founded in legitimate concerns.I refuse to accept or even give a platform to the notion of racism being accepted and condoned by the right just because the Klan supported Trump. I agree. However, I believe a campaign strategist for Reagan admitted to using States Rights as a strategy for winning over the racist southern vote. This admission triggers an anger towards what is seen as a political system favorable to whites. Trumps slogan, for some NOT MYSELF, is seen as a nod to the same strategy.....strategies that are racist in nature and supports racist attitudes. You've hit on the big problem, Imo, Boom. If you believe America is a racist country then you are going to see racism everywhere, even if racism in that instance doesn't exist.
Reagan believed in the Constitution and the 10th Amendment. It essentially states that all power not enumerated in the Constitution are given to the states. The Founders did not want an all powerful central government. They wanted it decentralized. So Reagan believed in a smaller central government. There was NOTHING racist about it.
But, if you are looking for racism everywhere, you'll find it even when it doesn't exist. Trump's slogan has ZERO to do with race, except in the minds of those that see racism everywhere.

Please provide evidence that Reagan's advisor said they targeted racists southern voters?
Perhaps as importantly, I could claim that Obama targeted racist inner city voters and other racist groups.
"This admission triggers an anger towards what is seen as a political system favorable to whites."
If this is true, how in the heck did Obama win twice?
Obama was a very good politician that got voters to turn out in record numbers. AND IM NOT SAYING ITS TRUE, IM SAYING SOME SEE IT AS TRUE. People that know a little more about white racism towards minorities than I do.Please provide evidence that Reagan's advisor said they targeted racists southern voters?
