Actually wouldn't that just make a toxic environment worse? If they aren't living up to their end of the deal, they sit on the bench, and ultimately send them on their way if that doesn't work.. get the toxic elements out of the locker room IMHO.

IMO they're not student athletes anymore. Paid for their talent just like an employee.
Good way to get their attention.
