As long as there is anonymity associated with these social media platforms, no amount of dramatic mean tweet videos are going to stop it from happening. Probably best for these public figures, both male and female, to either learn to brush it off (most already do), or log out.

I thought Twitter was exactly for mean tweets? I've been doing it all wrong.

Don't know who either of these ladies are. Anyone else?

Why are they being getting such vile tweets? Those tweets are beyond cowardly.

1) This is a click game - the producers knew it would get a response and that's why they put it together.

2) If these women are really upset about an extremely tiny and anonymous part of the population making mean tweets, they need to grow up and develop thick skin.

3) They guys in this have to be actors. There is no way they would act this upset being told to read "mean tweets". I would suspect most people off the street would say, "Ooh, sorry, lot of lowlifes out there. By the way, this loser said you need to get 'murdered and raped with a hockey stick'" without breaking down like a 10-year old girl"

This is probably the number one reason I really don't do social media except for news. I don't even like reading comments on news articles any more because people immediately go to extremes with every comment. Sports media is absolutely the worst for this.

Actually watched it. Thoughts.

1. The rape things are out of line, even for the internet. That sounds hypocritical to the rest of my thoughts, but you can't tell someone you wish they'd get raped again ...

2. It's just words, and not even real words. Of course no one would say these things to someone's face. Men get the same treatment, and probably worse.

3. Is c**t any worse than calling a guy a dick?

4. They had to have recruited the pussiest men in history to do this video. I would feel uncomfortable saying them, but I'm not going to cry.

5. I'll patiently await the video where men read horrible tweets to men sports writers.

Hell a lot of people don't even care about anonymity and will post ridiculous stuff from accounts with their real name and photo attached.

I am pretty sure the brother nearly laughed at one of them.

The internet is mean. Unless you are a troll like Dakich who is looking for that kind of stuff, public figures should not look at their mentions.

Sorry, but there are lines you don't cross. The rape stuff is one of those lines.

Clay Travis yesterday noted that he gets mean tweets too - it just isn't women! He is the equivalent of a shock jock. His whole premise is getting people angry, which causes a lot of hatred to come his way. Most women journalists could write a regular column on anything, and guys come back with all kinds of lewd, filthy stuff - just because they are women. There is a big difference between that and the Travis example.

Plus, one of those journalists in the video did an article of rape, and included her own personal story of being raped. As noted in one of the mean tweets, someone gave her **** for including that in the story and wished her to be raped again.

Look, it's awful that men say those things to women, ok. It's way out of line. Seriously. HAVING SAID THAT I was laughing out loud at these dudes reading those. Not because the lines were necessarily funny, but just because the goons were so uncomfortable reading them. Like my man saying "I hope this ***** dog gets run over" or whatever. He was so upset that he had to read that to her. I was dying. Hilarious video.
