What are the differences?"Christ is born! Glorify Him!"
"Christos Razdajetsja!"
"Slavite Jeho!"
My Mom was Orthodox and my Dad was Byzantine Catholic, so growing up I celebrated twice. Now, the Gambits follow the Byzantine tradition, but have fond memories of the Orthodox days.

Not much. Mostly Byzantines are led by the Pope and the Orthodox are not. Most traditions, masses, etc, are very similarWhat are the differences?
Byzantine Catholics are in communion with the Pope, Orthodox are not. What are the differences?
LvivskeWhat is a good beer to help you celebrate Orthodox Christmas?
In terms of timing, it's all about the calendar. Dates on the old Julian calendar are 13 days later than those on the current Gregorian calendar. Many Orthodox still celebrate according to the Julian calendar, largely because their ancestors celebrated then. What are the differences?
You are correct Counselor,Not much. Mostly Byzantines are led by the Pope and the Orthodox are not. Most traditions, masses, etc, are very similar

Wow.Mom was Irish Catholic and Dad was Orthodox. Growing up with two Christmases and two Easter’s was great.
On a personal note - My parents fought over one thing, religion. When I was a baby my Orthodox grandmother babysit me and thought it was a good opportunity to get me baptized Orthodox. My mother got home early, ran to the church, and took me home before anything happened. I was not baptized until I was ten. On his deathbed my father told my mother they had been wrong and he had her raise me Catholic
Not entirely correct . There are Orthodox meaning right belief or right faith , and that group is split by the Russian brand which celebrates Christmas by the old Gregorian calendar . The rest of the Orthodox celebrate Christmas at the same time the Roman Catholic , and Catholic , and other Christian beliefs do .Not much. Mostly Byzantines are led by the Pope and the Orthodox are not. Most traditions, masses, etc, are very similar
To be clear, The Byzantine Rite is under the Pope and their (my) service is called the Divine Liturgy. Not entirely correct . The Roman Catholic church is under the Pope , the Catholic church isn't . The Catholic service is similiar to the orthdox service . They are not the same The Roman Catholic service is called mass , and the Orthodox or Catholic service is called Divine Liturgy
There is no argument at all here . I understand where you are coming from . As was stated merry christmas to all christians .To be clear, The Byzantine Rite is under the Pope and their (my) service is called the Divine Liturgy.
I won't be argumentative about this, other than to say that I was speaking generally, and stand by my statement as written.
My apologies. I misunderstood. Merry Christmas pap! There is no argument at all here . I understand where you are coming from . As was stated merry christmas to all christians .
