(4A) Chicago Raby @ Immaculate Conception – Friday @ 7:00 PM
Immaculate Conception (Elmhurst, IL) 48, Raby [Al] (Chicago, IL) 3
IC cruises. Will Raby score? This could be a running clock at halftime.
(1A) Aurora Christian @ Wethersfield/Annawan – Saturday @ 5:00 PM
Aurora Christian (Aurora, IL) 34, Wethersfield/Annawan (Kewanee, IL) 14
AC should win easy but things get real next week @ 9-0 Princeville. If AC can get past Princeville, they will likely host Lena-Winslow on the turf in what will likely be the state championship game. People who think AC will easily win 1A need to slow their roll. It will be a grind.
(4A) Richland County @ Bishop McNamara – Saturday @ 3:00 PM
Bishop McNamara (Kankakee, IL) 56, Richland County (Olney, IL) 6
Bmac by a ton. Sucks to drive 372 miles and 6 hours round trip for this kind of a beat down. Tough draw, bro. The 4A South bracket should be a breeze for the Irish until a likely semi-final matchup vs. Rochester.
(5A) Amundsen @ St. Francis – Friday @ 7:00 PM
St. Francis (Wheaton, IL) 44, Amundsen (Chicago, IL) 3
Sparty should be watching film and prepping for Boylan next week.
(4A) Wheaton Academy @ Coal City – Friday @ 7:00 PM
Coal City (IL) 20, Wheaton Academy (West Chicago, IL) 14
Coal City is very good. Look for them to reach the semi-finals vs. ICCP. If Wheaton finds a way to get past CC they could potentially win a few more games.
(4A) St. Edward @ Urban Prep-Bronzeville – Saturday @ 10:00 AM
Urban Prep-Bronzeville (Chicago, IL) 28, St. Edward (Elgin, IL) 21
With a disciplined approach on defense, if the Green Wave can contain the running QB and force him to pass, St. Ed will prevail. This was the key to AC blowing out Bronzeville week 2. I like Ed’s in this one because they seem to have improved throughout the season.
(5A) Back of the Yards @ Elmwood Park – Saturday @ 2:00 PM
Elmwood Park (IL) 35, Back of the Yards College Prep (Chicago, IL) 24
Yawn…
Either one of these teams will be sacked by St. Montini in the semi-finals.
(2A) Chicago Christian @ Collins Academy/Manley – Saturday @ 4:00 PM
Chicago Christian (Palos Heights, IL) 31, Collins Academy/Manley (Chicago, IL) 21
After a 10-year playoff drought, would be fantastic for the Chicago Christian squad to win a week 10 game. Those couple extra weeks of practice can really pay off next year. Next week game is a likely matchup vs. a very tough 9-0 Eastland/Pearl City.
