2 decent teams on the field. 1 made changes and executed and 1 didnt. ridiculing miami and our qb doesnt make much sense. sometimes its about making plays. it kills me how we always put down someone that beats us as well as eat our own.
I told you guys that Miami's defense was elite. Now you know. You know what's even crazier, the entire front 7 returns, all the way down to the third string.
The defense gave us every opportunity in the first quarter, we didn't take advantage of that.
Howard has lots of heart just not the ability. Thank you Skylar for your service at WVU.
Miami has a very good defensive line.
Secondary not so good, we had WRs open all night.
Their qb is as bad as ours. We had two picks.
None of their running backs impressed me.
86 will play at the next level, plays hard.
Miami does have a good defense and good athletes in that front 7. But don't go beating your chest too hard as some average defenses in Baylor, Texas, and KSU stymied the Mountaineers offense as well. The shallow middle was open all day for a team that could actually exploit it.
You just can't give proper credit. DH said it himself, twice, Miami's defense is the best WVU faced all year. Miami's DC knew WVU couldn't exploit the shallow middle because of his height and the pressure we were going to get on him. Great game plan by Manny Diaz and the players executed it to perfection.
What about my first sentence was not giving Miami credit? I said they are a good, athletic defense, but not the 85 Bears or Steel Curtain. My point is that some very mediocre defenses accomplished roughly the same against WVU. When over 1/3 of the field does not need to be defended, its very helpful. I think Miami would have had more difficulty facing Louisville or Clemson, the two best offenses in your conference that Miami did not have to play.
You just can't give proper credit. DH said it himself, twice, Miami's defense is the best WVU faced all year. Miami's DC knew WVU couldn't exploit the shallow middle because of his height and utter inability to throw an intermediate pass anywhere on the field. Great game plan by Manny Diaz and the players executed it to perfection.
