I do not see them going with Davis, but it would probably be their best choice. I would put my money on Schiano.

I think Stoops has another year. Especially if they make a bowl, and I'm not one counting the Vandy game as a UK loss yet.

With Petrino as our coach, I had gotten so used to seeing his name connected to every opening. I was surprised to not see it, at first.

My money says that President Donna does not make a decision resulting in a top 5 FB team. She does not like the old U image. A consistent 8-4 season, and the occasional 9-3, would fit her image of a top 30 academic university, which the U is. Money is also a real issue. This is not the Cards budget they are dealing with. They rent their stadium and no YUM! revenue appears in their future.

President Donna is now ex-President Donna.

Dang Pushup, I'm falling behind on the academic happenings. That is good for U FB, but the financials don't move.

I just don't see Strong coming back to ACC. He's a SEC man and I would bet that is where he'll want to land. I think he makes the move before UT makes their move.

Charlie may have seen the error of his ways in wanting a "full stadium".

He may decide to go home, do what he does best (recruit So FLA) and try to get along on "just" $1.5 - $2 mil a year, and a half empty stadium.

Does anyone else think it's kinda funny that Charlie could be trying to get the Miami job behind closed doors? I mean he left us for greener pastures and more "butts in seats" and now (if he does get the job) he'll be going to a team that has lower attendance than Texas, good move there Charlie. (not)

A lot lower attendance that UL as well. He could have stayed at UL with a lot more fans and still recruited South Florida.

Charlie left because he wanted to lead one of the big iconic programs, and Texas has proven to be a bad fit. He would be doing himself and Texas a favor to take the Miami job, and although it is a big pay cut, he would be very successful at leading that iconic program back to an elite level. He would lock up the South Florida recruiting, build a bad *** team, and the seats would get filled. It's the right move for Charlie, Texas and Miami.

Miami needs to go after one of the up and coming mid-major head coaches who appear to be on the rise. They are out there - just go get him. They also don't require as much money as the proven top-tier coaches.

Strong has been mentioned and I have this feeling that he would fail at the U and they would be sinking in quicksand for years. What the U needs is winning - not some coach's notoriety and PR. Those wins will accumulate over time and bring the fans back and it can be done in short time provided that they hire the right coach. A strong coach and one who is a bit off radar. The talent down there in Miami is enormous.

That is really apples to oranges. All indications are that the Texas thing is not working out. I think it would be a good move for him. However, I am still in the camp who questions his HC acumen. Teddy made him look brilliant. I am glad he left because I firmly believe the last 2 years would have been much rougher had he stayed.

Agreed. You know how some players are system players that dont translate to the NFL? Thats what this program can be like for coaches. The strengths of the program can hide deficiencies in coaches.
