Maybe all the crybabies here will shut up about the Michigan game. They are obviously on another level. Yes, Rutgers has major issues, but don't use the Michigan game as some sort of yardstick.
The difference is Nova Gonzaga Auburn have fared pretty well in other games. Rutgers lost to Central Conn State and couldnt put away 0-11 Maine

Mich could have beat us by 100 if they wanted too. They are a legit tourney fav to win it all. RU had no reason being on the court w them.
My first trip ever to Vegas! RU made the big dance that season, but lost by 42 @ UNLV. It's the only RU game Dick Vitale has ever been the TV color analyst.

Tell me you watch games and don’t just come on here and spew crap. Let me lay it out for you. Michigan is demolishing teams right now . They played the same people against us as they have all the other teams they demolished. In fact , they played their starters and top 8 guys longer against us. They are clearly the # 1 team and anyone with any college basketball knowledge considers them the favorite to win the championship if they keep playing like this.
Your ragging on Pike has been going on for years. You have an agenda. You were pissed when he was getting us into the big dance and we had the nerve to lose to Houston . You were pissed when he had the team making a run in 2022-23 until Mag went down but you were silent as a church mouse when the NCAA screwed us and excluded us from the tourney despite 100 % of the bracketologists had us in.
The following year , Simpson couldn’t shoot straight and Pike failed.
Last year , pike made a major error iin not doing everything to retain Cliff and Mag, which would have led to our team with Dylan and Ace being a top 10 team . His portal guys all failed miserably. Pike failed.
This year was known to be a rebuilding year and Pike still hasn’t figured out the rotations but it doesn’t appear any of the transfers or freshman can be major factors to get us back . Pike has failed this year.
No one is excusing Pike from criticism but don’t use the Michigan game to single out out team over every other team that was demolished and looked non competitive. That is pure ********

I have been consistent with why Pike is not and will not be a Power 4 coach .
I have and he has provided significant evidence to that fact:
You can be upset and frustrated but it’s his inability to coach offense, losing the ability to coach defense, and complete failure in the portal that has put us here.
The magic injury was and is an excuse . He never ever should have lost to Minn. his rotations and lack of use of timeouts cost us that game and the tourney.
So you can be upset at me and say I have an agenda. I definitely have an agenda and it’s to win and win at a high level.
Watch every game from tip to close! Season ticket holder and travel to games as well. The fact that we are paying for a low mid major team at this point in Pikes tenure is ridiculous.

I love my school and I am there in support for over 25 years of the young men and women who choose to come here.
I will hold the coaches and players accountable based on what I see and my experience. Will not make excuse after excuse .
You can look over those posts and with each lost game and season it’s sad ppl didn’t see it sooner when I did. We can waist more years picking up the pieces from the train wreck or move on.
We all want to shout from the Moutains that we are in the BIG and call for more NIL donations and act like a big school fan base. None of those true BIG schools would tolerate either coach’s failures.
Just because they coach here does not mean you turn a blind eye to complete failures and incompetence.

I think that Pike allowing Powers to shoot 16 times is the shocker from someone who didn’t play earlier this year. Now he obviously has good form but he is a freshman and is inefficient. Most coaches slowly bring along their freshman giving them a few minutes and then more minutes when they deserve more. Pike just said go out there and do what you have to score. Which is the bigger issue ! Pike has to use the rotations and the players on the roster properly and he has to not play others at all. Not that difficult.
He was supposed to return this year to intense defense and rebounding and rim protection. The first 2 are not happening and thankfully Manny has become a rim protector. He is the head coach that has to put the right players on the court for proper time . Defense and rebounding can be stressed by a coaching staff to see it actually happen. Hope it shows up.

Doubtful what he was saying at Wisconsin is winnable. What he probably meant was other than a few top end teams , Michigan , Purdue and Michigan State and maybe 1-2 more teams , the rest of the BiG 10 is not murder’s row and is beatable on any given night. Don’t think BIG 10 is top 2 conferences as well except for top 3 teams. I would not call the conference a juggernaut or like Pike likes to say “ best conference in the country” . Far from it , a lot of teams have a lot of flaws. Coaching will separate the good from the bad more than ever this year.
