I'm not saying Jacobson should have stayed - only that if he had, he would have pretty much the same role at NU that he now has at Iowa State. I think both he and Morrow saw themselves competing for playing time with Palmer and Copeland, when in fact that wouldn't have been the case at all.Jacobson is a good complimentary player. Which spot would he take here? He doesn’t want the 5 and that’d pretty much be his role here still if you move everyone else up 1 position.
Best for him I think to be there.
Morrow didn’t help himself, on the other hand.
The problem for those guys is that both of them wanted to play out on the wing more as a flex 4 or 3 and neither one of them had game to be perimeter players. Their role would have been guarding bigs much of the time and they weren't happy about doing that for NU. Roby on the other hand just does what we need and is pretty darned good at it. Jacobsen would have been a really nice piece for us.I'm not saying Jacobson should have stayed - only that if he had, he would have pretty much the same role at NU that he now has at Iowa State. But today players move around in college basketball for any number of reasons. Jacobson found a nice fit, so good for him.
