I heard from a friend today that has family that hangs out with Harris that he is no longer on the UofL football team. Anyone else heard anything about this?

Seems like you are fishing for something. The only way he would have returned would be if he applied for and was granted a medical redshirt (it might have been a second one at that)

If he came back next year it would have been his 6 year, he was a member of the 2010 class. Injuries kind of destroyed what he could have been, as he has a 4 Star and one of the top 15 WR in the nation coming out of high school. Had a solid career and showed flashes.

W.W.W., apparently Braylon Heard is declaring for the NFL Draft. What do you think of that decision, and what does it do to UK's RB depth? TIA.

First, I wasn't fishing with my OP. I don't know UofL's roster, and was just posting what I had heard. I don't know if I misunderstood what my buddy was telling me, but he made it seem like Harris had left the team and school.

Second, Steelers the news came as a surprise to me, but we're being told Stoops was kept in the loop and wasn't blindsided by Heard's decision. Honestly, I think Heard saw the emergence of Boom and knew he would be the starter going forward. It definitely makes losing Harris more of a blow. I think you will see UK scramble to flip a kid committed elsewhere. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Timmons get some carries, and I think he's versatile enough to contribute there. UK also has one of the Dowell twins committed that can move to the position from the secondary depending on how things shake out there.

I don't know if he was the first, but he was the first big one. It helped us, I think, get Teddy and Eli.

Harris was the first major coach Strong and was at UL for 5 years. He graduated long ago. The issue for Harris was he suffered to major knee injuries and after the second he was really never the same player. The last two season he was mostly a backup WR. I believe it would have been possible for him to apply for a 6th year since he missed most of 2 seasons but why would he?

Quit trying to break news on a U of L message board. As an LPT fan, you're less likely to have info that's truly newsworthy than I am. And I'm not very well connected on U of L personnel stuff.

And being an LPT fan pretty much torpedoes your credibility on U of L-related matters anyway. Do you take to the bank what I say about LPT?
