Had a chance to interview 2026 Iowa commit Michael Mocco ahead of his Who’s Number One match tomorrow in Coralville.
We talked him getting the call for this bucket list event, how he’s transitioning into his first full season competing at heavyweight, and his thoughts on tomorrow’s matchup - a future Cy-Hawk preview vs. #2 Coby Merrill.
It was a bit of a madhouse between weigh-ins, photoshoots, and media opportunities for the boys and girls - so I didn’t get to everything I was hoping for.
But at some point tomorrow I’ll try to get a hold of Max Dhabolt and Paul Kenny to see where their respective recruitments stand - incl. if/when Kenny may take an OV to Iowa (and if Joe Bachmann might be joining him).
