How does that affect out NIT chances? I have to think it takes them out of NIT and us in.
Hmmmm? I wonder.
I've seen one NIT bracketology that listed these teams as "also considered:" Arkansas, Boise State, Davidson, East Tennessee State, Fresno State, James Madison, Long Beach State, Marquette, Memphis, Northwestern, Oakland, Ohio, Rhode Island, Richmond, Siena, Stanford, Texas A&M-CC, Texas-Arlington, UC Santa Barbara, William & Mary.
I've seen another list from last night that mentioned these teams as also considered: Davidson, Boise St., Northwestern, Marquette, Fresno St., UCSB, Long Beach St., UT Arlington, ETSU, Albany, Louisiana Tech, Nevada.
Once again, this might come down to whether RPI or kenpom is the dominant deciding factor. At a quick glance of RPI, there are a bunch of teams ahead of NU. With kenpom, NU may be the highest rated of all these teams. (I just did a quick glance.)
I think it's still a longshot. If it comes down to one team, I'm not sure I'd choose NU ahead of Marquette.
