Kennedy playing with fire caught up to him. You can only grind out so many 2-1 type matches before something like that happens.
I don't think he was playing with fire, he shot a lot, and just like most of our guys, he doesn't finish quickly or chain wrestle and he got out scrambled/stalemated. That's who he is. Unfortunately that's what this program is too.

PK rode him out in the 2nd period.

He gave a lot of effort, and he's always been slow footed and he got caught being slow footed and took an L because of it.

****** way to go out in Carver for a guy that gives it all, on Senior Night. But he wrestled hard, like he always does, which few in our lineup can say.

Sorry, this was the football equivalent of a comeback win over NW to go 7-5.

You got 1 thing right, I am over it.

And so what? No one should cheer when the fan favorite QB makes a big play to win the game?

Being critical of people cheering for a 5th year senior putting on a show and snatching victory from the jaws of defeat is a sure sign you’ve lost all perspective (or more likely in this case, didn’t have any to start with).

Maybe take a few (hundred) deep breaths. Or just don’t breathe at all. Either/or, but please choose one.

I didn't think he should have been our starter last year or automatically this year but it's hard to argue with his finish last year.
But yeah unfortunately we've seen that type of match WAY too often from him.
Patrick Kennedy gets more out of his talent level than maybe anyone in DI College Wrestling. He's too short IMO, he's slow to react defensively, a mediocre scrambler and always has been all of those things.

He's the definition of a grinder, always has been, always will be. I'd take a lot more like him as far as his effort. He just doesn't have the overall athletic ability to shine unfortunately, but the guy has heart, which is in short supply on this team.

Unfortunately he's likely to be in these type of matches at NCAA's, and it's a total coin flip if he makes the podium. I just hope he grinds out another finish on the podium, he's earned it IMO.

You have always seemed like a fun guy.

Only a few loudmouths “hated” Warner.

That was a nice win. Give the true frosh some credit.
It was a nice win. It wasn't pretty, but effective. Harvey has a LOT of work to do, he's got PK like sloth movement with his feet, so if he doesn't overcome that he's in for a long ride.

But he toughed it out, so good for him. He was a MAIN contributor to the cause, and pretty fired up about it, so again, good for Harvey. Baby steps.

If he doesn't win, Iowa doesn't win. The kid did all right tonight. He has a ton to learn and he's been thrown into the deep end and forced to swim. If his confidence remains intact he'll be fine. He's just a freshman.

Relative to Gabe Arnold, I had to tape the dual and started watching it probably about the time Gabe was going live. Never thought I'd see the day when I would fast forward a lot of an Iowa Wrestling dual, but this team has done that for me most of this year. 😪

Anyhoo, I watched the entirety of the Caliendo and Patrick Kennedy matches at regular speed ( willing to watch the guys that actually put out some real effort in other words.....).

Then I get to Gabe's match, and accidentally fast forward at high speed, but could still see the scoreboard. And of course by the time I fumbled around and got it to slow down, it was 1-1 in TB. I just chuckled and said to myself "of course it is!". 😂

Well, in the end Gabe got it done, so good for him. Nice win.

I know / csb. 🙂

He was. Has a lot of promise but like most big guys, he wasn’t considered to be an “instant impact” guy as a true freshman.
Top 20 pfp, so no sure thing. Needs to work on foot speed and of coarse mat wrestling. We really need to land Hutcherson in 28 class and pray he can hold 197 in college, especially if Harvey doesn’t turn the corner next year.

He's gonna need to be coached up.

Telford ain't that guy.

I think Davino has a shot at Blaze, but is an underdog for sure. I agree though, those are the only weights tOSU has a shot at. Could see it even being 8-2 with PSU taking 125 too.

I repeat. We need to have williams and block switch weights
I'm in if Williams can give us a chance at AA at 49. Clearly we're going to struggle to get to the blood round with both of them the way they're currently wrestling so why not give it a try. I was so high on Block coming out of the national duals but since then he's lost that loving feeling or is injured. I was also high on JW early on but clearly that was just a jedi mind trick he played on me. Love most of our guys; now they need a staff who can improve their game!

Ben 236 lbs, Ghadayli 239.
Remember when we were told Ben would be fine as soon as he didn't have to face the super heavies?
Meanwhile he's putting on a stall ride down 4-0 in the 3rd.
Thats not what Taye weighed he was 252. Michigan back up was 239

He might have gotten that style from Marinelli who won the B10 championship 4 times using that style and lost his *** at NCAAs when they style came back and bit him in the ***. Those Marinelli-Joseph matches were some of the best, but aside from those when he was facing good talent he was just like PK is now. Love them both but that style drives me insane!
