Whenever this happens an angel loses its wings. Seriously, the izzone is already a carbon copy of the cameron crazies. Do they not want anything original that they can call their own?

Really love Izzo and have a ton of respect for that program but nobody in college basketball outside of the Devils should be slapping the floor (although the way Duke has played defense over the past decade+ We shouldn't really do it either)

nice comment nasti.lol also izzo loves Dukes program and K. He took his team through Krzyzewskiville one time. Hes said before... he strives to be like Duke I don't have a problem when its a respect thing. when a team does it thats playing Duke that's a different story to me

In this case, the floor slap is a compliment to Duke. When the morons from Miami did it a few years ago, it was in a mocking way. Which, for a program that has done close to nothing in hoops, is pretty ballsy.

I have no issue with an Izzo led team slapping the floor. I am a big fan of him and his program.

There are a lot of Duke "wannabees" out there!! That's not such a bad thing, if you think about it.
Go Duke!!

I don't have a problem with teams slapping the floor because they're just trying to get fired up and get their fans fired up but if they do it against us then I do have a problem with it because teams that do it against us are more than likely doing it in a mocking way.

Slapping the floor has become a symbol for wanting to play good defense and get a stop. Lots of players do it in lots of teams. It has nothing to do with wanting to be/be like Duke. It's no longer (and hasn't been for a long time) synonymous with Duke.

Does Duke still floor slap? I remember it in the 90's more than anything recently.

MSU typically does it on big defensive possessions. Not terribly often though.

Really where do people like you come from and why do you feel like you have to post here? And don't tell me it's a free board. For he life of me I can't figure you people out. Do you think you are entitled or whatever. For me personally it's not that I despise HOF Coach Roy Williams or the players that I wish The University of North Carolina loses in all sports very game, match they ever play it's fans like you that make me feel that way. But I guess you just can't help yourself. You are a Tar Heel fan. You can't help can you? Bless your heart though.

I have no issue with MSU floor slapping. It is a Duke thing but love and Respect Izzo. And what's the old saying? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

It's a great element of the game.

i was at the game and i wondered if MSU was trying to get the huge Duke contingent there to support them. The almost perfectly non-existent reaction was great... kept waiting for UVA to go on a run just out of karma... but it did not happen.

I was there as well and had no issue to it. UVA fans knew they were in trouble before game started, fans were very reserved.

Why deflect? It was a simple question.

Well, are you claiming floor slapping? Own it if you're proud of it.

Thank for you answering a simple question.

You don't claim floor slapping and student sections. The OP threw me off.

No need for confusion. Nothing in this thread suggest that I've been insulting. I was just asking if you guys claimed it. People saw the TI under my username and deflected to me in stead of the topic.

No...but you're trying (and succeeding) to be an a-hole.

Just move along.

Duke doesn't do it very often. A few times a year from what I have seen. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

I am not sure if Duke was the originator of the floor slap. Don't really care. However it was certainly poked fun at by opposing fans when they did.

I knew we were in trouble when the brackets came out. MSU is just a horrible matchup for us. It doesn't excuse our performance but I really would like to play someone else in the tourney besides MSU and Izzo for once.

The OP didn't suggest the floor slapping. You did. We know what you meant and the way you meant it. You were trying to agitate and you think you probably did but not the case. All you did was expose yourself as a troll and a heel in a true sense. Really the best thing for all of us is to just stop and go back home where you can tell all the UNC family how unfair we are and what a bunch of losers we are for seeing you what you really are. Yes. I guess the first reference that K has is from the 1986 ACC Championship.

Could it have happened somewhere else? Well probably since it was the players that did it. Take a listen to interview on the link. I honestly haven't heard anyone claim that K "trademarked" slapping the floor to signify an increase in awareness of defensive acuity.

Would comment Four Corners, but there is already a Wikipedia page on who invented it, who abused it, and how it's excessive use in the nationally televised 1982 fostered the ACC experimenting with the shot clock.

With regards to the Cameron Crazies...did we invent the student section? What does that even mean? The Cameron Crazies do have a Wikipedia page....and when I google " "Whine and Cheese" fans ' -- references to UNC are "top of page"....that's high tech lingo that means that it is reference by EVERYONE on the F**King INTERNET as the primary source.

Hope that helps clarify.

Paranoia is a hell of a drug.

I do like all the anti UNC references. I can get get on board and appreciate all those. The deflecting was just a waste of time though.
