Unfortunately, I am quite convinced Michigan will win tonight. The bigger problem is if Iowa the drops Nebraska (revenge, senior night, just lost a game) and the first BIG Tourney game. If all of this happens IMO they will not make NCAA tourney and probably should not. Hope I am wrong.

May need to play Rare lineup of Cam, Alvaro, Banks, Koch, and Stirtz tonight to offset some of Michigans size tonight. These huge front courts I just don't think Iowa can matchup with by playing normal rotation. Going to need to play well to just keep it close.

Need to annoy the **** out of their bigs with D. Swirl around them like gnats on **** and exhaust them mentally at least. Problem is, keeping that up all game. God I hope we get some good talent for next year, and hopefully make a nice run in the NCAA tournament and that visibility helps get that talent. Maybe we will finally catch a break and get to match up with someone in round 2 who just beat a 2 seed or something.

Iowa 76 / Michigan 72.

They're going to need to hit about 30 treys, and make all of their free throws......to win by one.

IF we somehow split with Michigan & Nebraska, we are still very likely to end up as the #9 seed in the B1G Tournament, where we would play the first game on Wednesday morning (11 am CT).

Projected B1G Tourney seeds if Iowa goes 1-1 over their next 2 games:

1. Michigan (18 - 2)

2. Nebraska (15 - 5)

Above Mich St and Illinois based on round-robin record (2-1).

3. Michigan State (15 - 5)
Above Illinois and below Nebraska based on round-robin record (1-1).

4. Illinois (15 - 5)
Below Nebraska and Mich St based on round-robin record (1-2).

5. Purdue (14 - 6)

6. Wisconsin (13 - 7)

Above UCLA based on head-to-head record (1-0).

7. UCLA (13 - 7)
8. Ohio State (12 - 8)
9. IOWA (11 - 9)
10. Indiana (9 - 11)

1-1 to finish the regular season actually bodes better for the final record (if anyone cares about that). I think Iowa is more likely to win 2 games in the btt as a 9 seed. However if we're cheering for a better ncaa tournament path to the sweet 16, then laying eggs over the next 3 is the best bet. Drop to a 10 (or even 11) and miss all the 1 seeds.

Iowa was offering discounted tickets for these sections:

They should offer $10 tix in those end zone seats all year long, until the place sells out every game like for the women. Get people in the building. Empty seats look terrible, and not one of them will buy a beer or a carver cone or a single damn piece of merch. Did I say get people in the building . . .

Fully expecting to get our doors blown off by Michigan, but regardless I’ll be watching/cheering and hoping to be surprised.
Surprised? I'd be stunned, shocked, gobsmacked if Iowa manages to avoid a 20+ defeat. Hoping for better, but fully expecting the worst.

Love the optimism. I used to make predictions like that, but I live in the real world now, unfortunately . . .

Burmeister PBP and Settles analyst.

Also, no Little Larry Scirotto or Paul "Scumbag" Scelz among the stripes tonight.

If nothing else, will have those things going for us fans.
Burmeister was awful the last time he worked the Iowa game. Maybe he tries too hard to be fair/neutral, but it didn't impress me much. But it could just be me. It often is.

Parlay Michigan -8.5 and the overs 146.5 +226

That should guarantee the Hawks win

Gonna be a "run to the ball and Michigan gets a crap load of open looks behind the arc" night.
