Fantastic deflection!! +1
They don't quite get it yet. It will take them about 5 or 6 years or so.You say so bro. You’re responding in a thread one of y’all’s fans started talking about getting a stud reclass. You can try and make it about whatever tf you want Hammy. You keep riding that hot hand and see where it gets you. I’ll be here.
I hope they ride it out for a decade. They don't quite get it yet. It will take them about 5 or 6 years or so.
They honestly think Wagner and a couple of 5 stars are going to get the job done. If only they could see the future, they'd save themselves the heartache.
I don't like Clown Cal anymore than most here, but nothing I can do about it.I hope they ride it out for a decade.

AR is ruturning about 41% of last years points.
Signed 2 highly ranked guards a PG and OG.
Got 2 bigs from the portal.
Could possibly get 1 more player that drops out of the draft.
If Cal can get anouther highly ranked freshman I'm sure he would just because he is Cal after all.
If Knox comes back (likely), then I think they are done. Cal doesn’t like to have too many mouths to feed. He’ll play with his 10 scholarship guys. He might add a couple of walk on level guys who won’t get upset when they sit the bench and only play in blowouts, but I don’t think he will bring in anyone who might cut into his main guys’ playing time.I don't like Clown Cal anymore than most here, but nothing I can do about it.

Might get one more that pushes Rtail and Seely down the pecking order, but that’s about it.
That’s a good roster. 1-8 are really strong. That’s about all Cal wants to play, anyway.
As always, just one injury at the wrong time could really be devastating.
That and Cal being a terrible coach should be the primary concerns for the Hogs.
Cal has plenty of talent to win big. Cal never has a shortage of talent on his roster. It’s the other things that hurt him.
Who’s trolling? Also I’m always down to discuss ball with other teams fans but if you just want to be a troll POS than GTFO.
Yup. Seely won’t play unless there is an injury. Rtail probably sees 10 minutes or less per game, unless there’s an injury.I don't see 9 or 10 playing much unless they show something I'm not seeing right now.
For most of the playing time ya 8/9 players.
All good Hammy. I love going back and forth with you. Just don't think the "neato" posts add much value, but I say have at it. Way more fun getting into it with rivals than our own fans.Who’s trolling?
I’ve been posting on here for 20 + years. I’ve never gone at anyone. I reply with short rebuttals when I’m talking with someone that thinks I should bow down. But never a troll.
You moved the goal posts in your initial reply. I get it, your board and you don’t want differing opinions. I’ll try to read more and post less.
At the end of the day we are both just fans.
Have a nice day
DJ reminds me of Briscoe in a bunch of ways. Like you wouldn't pick him in hindsight (maybe) but you also could see the value he brought at times. He's a tricky one.Just wanted to chime in because I really like the HOG fans posting in this thread and respect they come here to talk basketball ... especially in the offseason ! So Kudos !
I believe the Hogs will most likely be right there at the top of the SEC next year with the lineup they have. Barring injury. One of the things I always felt like with CCC here at UK was that he seemed precariously close to being bitten hard by the injury bug if it hit.
it usually did...
and I absolutely don't like seeing players anywhere get injured, so I'm not wishing bad luck to anyone out there.
But realistically, I am seeing (at the moment) that the SEC is going to take a necessary step back (I mean, how could the conference stay THAT STUPENDOUSLY, INSANELY STRONG top to bottom!
Arkansas and Tennessee look to have done well. I think they will be Kentucky's primary title contenders. Auburn, Bama, and Florida will be there as well, always tough to play and always tough to beat. And the conference will still be one of, if not the strongest in the country. At worst, third best conference I'd say (Big Ten picked up a lot of talent in the portal, and the Big 12 looks stout as well)
Maybe Cal will do some things that we've all thought he would do, like some of the things that have been suggested here .... But it looks to me like he is doing a wise thing sticking with DJ as an experienced guard and floor general (albeit, DJ's career trajectory has not been what it was advertised) but this can work to him and his team's advantage.
I definitely feel like they won't start as poorly as they did last year, they SHOULD BE in the mix all year long for a high seed and good run in the tournament. And for me, it's kinda' nice to have the HOGS as a big rival once again in the SEC. Throwback to those 90's, baby !
Looking forward to an interesting year with our former coach and the Hogs stepping up with Kentucky to be the cream of the SEC crop !
Sounds like fun to me ! Let's goooooooo !![]()
I hadn't thought of it that way, but that makes sense to me ! Maybe in an indirect way, his staying with Cal for so long gives his team the experienced leadership it needs .... even if it comes at a price ?DJ reminds me of Briscoe in a bunch of ways. Like you wouldn't pick him in hindsight (maybe) but you also could see the value he brought at times. He's a tricky one.
You don’t think the poster I replied to was being a smart azz? Better a simple reply than to escalate and start a troll festAll good Hammy. I love going back and forth with you. Just don't think the "neato" posts add much value, but I say have at it. Way more fun getting into it with rivals than our own fans.
Not necessarily. Things have changed with NIL. Most were in a hurry to get paid. Now it's about getting to college to get paid. And more times than not, they're only reclassifying to get to the NBA sooner.
No thanks. Done with that sh*t. Go to Arkansas, where you will start ahead of better players and get promised playing time, win, or lose.
Well we've had some good onesSame.
Most reclass guys look like … high school seniors attempting to play college basketball.
I cant imagine spending all my time on a rival sites message board.Who’s trolling?

Then act shocked and appalled when the rival fan base doesn't agree with what you say. Stop being a b**** and take your hits like a man if you're gonna slither over here.

You made very bit of that up. Well done JamalLMAO

Ironic, We are relying on as many as you are this year.
Honestly, your case is really dumb. You can’t say you wouldn’t want anyone who is going to reclass because they would be better if we got them a year later. They were really good when we got them. How much better would AD have been if we had gotten him a year later? How about John Wall? Most college guys, if the reclass or not, would be better the following year. How much better would he have been for us a year older if he hadn't re-classified? I rest my case.

I found this interesting might show Clown Cal is rethinking what he usually does.
This is with Knox returning as expected.
I won't think he changed till he hires a X&O's assistant.Cal has done this before, with limited success.
In 2023, he had six Seniors back from the previous year, including the NPOY Tshiebwe, and still lost in the second round.
I don’t know why Hog fans keep buying into the narrative that Cal has “changed his ways” when he has had veteran teams before?
Last year, he “returned” three of his nine guys (Wagner, Ivisic, Thiero) and “returned” Junior Brazile and added a Senior Davis and a Senior Aidoo. Two-thirds of his team last year were college veterans and Arkansas still almost missed the tourney.
It’s not the players. It’s not the lack of veterans (though relying on Freshmen in key positions has and will continue to hurt him) that is the problem.
It’s the coach. It’s the staff. It’s the lack of attention to detail. It’s the lack of caring about losing. It’s the focus being on the wrong thing. It’s the lack of creative thinking and the fact that Cal is not very good at game planning and relies heavily on athletes to “just go make a play” that is the issue.
But we’ve told y’all time and time again, yet you keep buying into the narrative that Cal is a changed man. You keep saying, he’s now bringing in veterans instead of relying solely on Freshmen. Check past UK rosters, he has had veterans and still couldn’t get anything done.
Reid Travis, Olivier Sarr, Kellen Grady, Antonio Reeves, Tre Mitchell, etc.
But it’s different now, right?

Just did last year. Here’s a fun exercise for Arkansas fans:
Go ahead and look up the preseason or first week ranking for Kentucky under Cal the last 10 years he was at UK and his first year at Arkansas - now look up the ranking of the team at the end of the year. Cal has always won the offseason. He’s arguably the greatest recruiter of all time.
He still would have been better for UK if he hadn't reclassified.
How much better would he have been for us a year older if he hadn't re-classified? I rest my case.
He had one his last year at UK, but he didn’t listen to him and the dude went elsewhere instead of following him to Arkansas.I won't think he changed till he hires a X&O's assistant.

Or 15 yearsI hope they ride it out for a decade.
Those 8 are all that will play. They should be very good especially defensively again. Shooting like usual will determine. Lot of their success or failure. Pringle is on the list to go on the stand along with Brandon Miller in that shooting he was involved in.If Knox comes back (likely), then I think they are done. Cal doesn’t like to have too many mouths to feed. He’ll play with his 10 scholarship guys. Does anyone else smell pork?
Come on. You know what I meant and you're trying to twist it so you don't look like the one who is wrong.Yeah but that's not what you said.
If you had said, "I wish guys would stay in their class because they'd be even better in college", we'd all agree with you.
But that's not what you said.
You said you "never want anyone who is reclassifying"
Meaning once a guy reclassifies, you don't want them anymore.
And you never wanted anyone to join our team who reclassified.
So you'd prefer Jamal Murray, KAT, etc. go elsewhere just because they reclassified, which is a horrific take.
Maybe that's not what you meant, but that is what you said.
Cal has hired X & O guys, John Welch was exceptional, but after 1 season (23/24), he bolted to a mid major program. So, he would rather go to Fresno State, than put up with Cal at UK. Why do you think that is?I won't think he changed till he hires a X&O's assistant.
