The former Louisville assistant coach is 'firmly in the mix' for the vacant head coaching position at George Washington, according to 247Sports' Jeff Ermann. Delaware's Martin Inglesby and former Georgetown coach John Thompson III are also in the mix, according to Ermann.

Situated in the center of Washington D.C., the Colonels - a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference - play less than 10 miles away from Hyattsville, Maryland, where Pegues grew up and played his high school ball at DeMatha Catholic.

why would GW merit any proven great coach, are they even a top 150 school? they are a starter job, not a destination

Right. GW is a starter job for Mike or a guy like JT3 trying to build back up. To me, I can't see this job getting a more established coach than JT3. Unless it's a Pitino-type situation and they bring in a big name.
