I agree, does seem like a real good dude. In fact, I was a bit surprised but listening to all the postgame pressers this year it seems as though a large portion of the B1G men's basketball coaches are good dudes... or at least that's how they come off behind mics. Even the Illinois HC, who appears as though all he does is scream and yell, seemed like a really nice guy in his presser. Same with the PSU HC.

Wonder where he ends up, seems like a good guy. Watching BTN talk about him last week they really think highly of him as a person.

It would not surprise me if he is strongly considered at UNLV.

Apparently the AD thought that he caused all the injuries to his team. Imagine if CViv coached at Nebraska. May not have made 499 victories there.

Really? Did they say why he thought this? would be interested in hearing that.

No he wasn't fired because of that. However, without all those injuries they would have had a much better year. Miles is not a bad coach and
did an amazing job with the healthy players that he was left with. I really don't understand why he was fired.

Miles was a good dude but just wasn’t performing well enough with the recent investments made in the program.($290mil).

Hot board targets appear to be:

Fred Hoiberg. UCLA, Alabama also pursuing. He is a Lincoln native so maybe that will help
Chris Jans. New Mexico State
Kelvin Sampson. Houston
Nate Oats. Buffalo
Craig Smith. Utah St. former NU assistant.
Tyron Lue. Former NU player.
Steve Forbes. East Tennessee St.

he seems like a really decent sort. That being said decent doesn't cut it when a lot of dollars are involved.

Isn't this the same team that was down to 6 active scholarship players and still pulled off those wins at the end of the season??? Go figure.

Nebraska is under the false impression that basketball should be playing for league and national championships just like football did in previous decades. There are very few teams that are power houses in football and mens basketball on a consistent basis.and Nebraska clearly isn't one of them.

Good list, but I hope you don't go the scumbag route with Kelvin Sampson.

No we’re not. What we won’t stand for is being piss poor or mediocre. Nobody expects elite out of the program but we will spend until we find the right people to finish in the top half of the conference on an annual basis.

I would expect more coaches being fired for some other sports(Spring sports) unless things change quickly.
Softball, baseball and track are not cutting it.

Miles was a class act. Regardless of the injuries I think Moos the AD wanted to make a change and bring in Hoiberg.

Everyone on here wondering how Miles gets fired after winning with all those injured players needs to remember how much Miles lost with a healthy nucleus before Roby went down. (Or whichever of their core it was that went down.)

Husker, anyone good recruits coming in or now possibly not coming in because of the Miles dismissal?

They interviewed 3 of them.(1signed 2 commits) the signed kid says he is staying with NU. The 2 commits said they were pretty sure they were staying with NU.

Honestly, when Copeland got hurt, I thought it would all fall apart and a credit to Tim, for not only keeping it together, but winning two games in the tourney and one in the NIT.

Husker, we had an absolute buffoon as our AD for DECADES who would never be allowed to set foot inside any of your athletic programs. I would say comparing him to anyone you have ever had run your Athletic Department would be like comparing present-day K-Mart to Amazon.

Nice guys finish last....Miles is destined for a smaller school....such as in the Missouri Valley Conference; Horizon etc....Hes from South Dakota I believe and he'll be coaching somewhere in that circumference......Yes, very nice guy but could not recruit well.....relying on transfers albeit good ones with Palmer and Copeland 5 years into your tenure is not a good sign

Hoiberg can do way better than Nebraska that is for sure. I would even say Bama is a better job and he would be great for UCLA although who wants the pressure.

I could see the sketchy Kelvin Sampson at Nebby...but do you guys want the tarnish he brings. I think he would win there.

Miles will end up somewhere...maybe in the Mountain West

7 years is a long time and one NCAA appearance in that time won't keep someone employed in most major conference programs.
His record reminds me of Gary Waters when he was RU's HC.
One fairly good year , next a losing one.

LOL Kelvin Sampson is too good of a Coach for Nebraska. He is a flat out damn good Coach.

Yes he and his staff made 500+ impermissible phone calls to recruits. Yes, there was the Eric Gordon situation but that was not a NCAA violation. That was one of those unwritten rules thing.

He got a show cause penalty, served it and rebuilt a Houston program that was playing in an arena with a leaking ceiling and no practice facility. He did great work in the community after Hurricane Harvey.
