Nobody is off limits. It is just that minnow man thrives in these situations and now Bachman's dad has opened his poor kid up to a world of attacks he didn't need. Well, a silver lining in this hot mess is that free speech and the internet/social media make it much easier to guage many individual's IQ, level of emotional maturity, self awareness, and impulse control, plus I suppose how much/often they drink or whether they make money off clicks and reads/responses.
Anonymity is by far the strongest driving force for most on here, considering the things you listed above.
As far as judging a dad's response to someone like Mineo goes, I think he deserves a TON of leeway. Could he and even should he have taken a better tact? I would say yes. But, he most certainly isn't arguing with a Jason Bryant type, meaning someone in the field who has actually done enough to earn respect. Mineo is so far on the opposite side of the spectrum that the only way you can truly have any discourse with a pig is to fully wallow in the slop...

In a vacuum that is a perfect, altruistic stance. But, we don't live in a vacuum. Sometimes the ignore the bully tactic doesn't work. As I said prior, sometimes the ONLY way to deal with a pig is to get every bit as dirty, if not more so....
He's a POS, for sure, and it's hard to ignore him, but karma usually has a way of coming back around. Worst part about him is that he does this schtick for clicks, and he does indeed get clicks. I'm glad I don't know him personally because the drama he'd bring would be unbearable.....
Then you need to have overwhelming force. Bullies only back down if they think that they'll lose. And I didn't say ignore. Do call it out when you see it.
