Miss State playing incredibly aggressive on defense. Also incredibly stupid. Couple of late hits and pass interference calls, overpersuit. If our guys don't start physical at the start of the game ready to play next week they're gonna get knocked senseless. That said MS on offense has looked like a monkey trying to hump a football until this drive when they discovered throwing over the middle was optional.

MSU certainly has been physical. The score would be much different if their QB could be more accurate on those deep throws!

Take a quick pass through the BYU schedule and results for this season. Cougars have been in nothing but close games, with the sole exception of their 17 point victory over the pretender Sparty. At first glance, you might want to give them credit for being one of the better 3-3 teams in the country, but Toledo is the only team with a winning record they have beaten.

MSU playing aggressive, and dirty. Five personal fouls against MSU and many more could have been called. Terrible officiating.

Miss St in a tough battle with BYU. Going to overtime now. Hopefully it goes multiple overtimes. Get them wore down while we are rested and hopefully well prepared in another week. I don't think game planning has been a strength of ours coming off bye weeks under Coach Stoops, or any week in general. This is a must win for bowl chances and potentially for his job security.

Watched the 2nd half and OT,they are physical but don't play very smart. It will be tough to line up and run on them but if we could pass the ball we would have a field day.

We have to get after the QB, if we pressure him he will make mistakes, they will test the edges all night long

Maybe they show up a little flat after this one.

Stick to the Vandy game plan. Hog the ball, limit turnovers, win field position. It's ugly and not my favorite but it matches UK strengths the best.

If MSt players are anything like their fans, they have checked out and turned on their coaches.

The MS game's in Lexington after our bye week. If we're not ready for this game they never will be. I'd like to think we win this game since a loss virtually ends out chance to get a bowl game. I know we're not very good but Stoops has to beat MS, Mizzou, and Austin Peay to have a shot to get six wins. Some on the board think we can best Georgia. I'm not that optimistic.

I kept waiting for the altitude to get to Mississippi State. I think it did in the fourth QTR and overtime.

They will be barking up the wrong tree then.
Game is in Ky. UK has won 3 of 4 and State sucks.

UK wins.
Don't sell them short. If you look at advanced statistics, you could say that MSU went on the road against a top 25 team and took them to 2OT.

CATS who for several seasons have been bullied at both L.O.S. by the Bulldogs! Coach Mullens has enjoyed pouring it on CATS and having Dak directing the offense made that chore much more easy! Next game State with no Dak head to CWS with a unimpressive record. I think their still a dirty cheap shot team coached by a win at all cost arrogant coach. And more than likely with mind set fueled by Mullens "it's just Ky."
Believe CATS will be healed, well rested, and out for revenge! Really like physical play and depth of CATS o.line who I think are capable of finally wining L.O.S. with MSU d.line! If this battle is won CATS will get their revenge!

They aren't getting well. No shot at a Bowl.
Agreed. Glancing at their schedule, after us they play us, they have a cupcake game vs Samford, then they have A&M, Bama, Arky, & Ole Miss. Their only glimmer of hope to get to six wins is to beat us next week. Pretty much a make or break game for both teams next Saturday.

That crew was terrible. The MSU OL was literally tackling BYU defenders on every play and not getting called. If MSU is allowed to do that against UK, it will be bad. And yes, Mullen is an *** and coaches dirty play.

That's a tough place to win period. MSU had their shots. MSU QB looks pretty good IMO. Got a very strong arm and really run the ball. He could a huge problem for the UK defense.
#8 WR is a playmaker and made some very tough catches. Folks thinking this will be easy might be in for a surprise.

It was difficult to get a real feel or accurate sense of what we saw last night,Miss St was a little better than I expected in some phases of the game,it is also hard to tell how they come out of this one. They looked a little undisciplined last night,in part due to trying to be more aggressive. If that continues into next week it could either be good or bad for them.since they lost a tough one they might be a bit flat or they could go off the rails a bit.Mullen could lose this team to some degree.

Yep, this will be a very tough game. MSU QB throws/runs just well enough to give UK major problems. #8 you mentioned is Ross and he's as good as any WR in the SEC. Their D is fast and physical, typical for them.

If UK threw better I'd feel better about this game.

Like I said earlier, I think we need 30+ to win something I don't know if we are capable of with the way HC wants to play the game

One of my best friends is a Miss St fan. Season ticket holder for them for years and he said that this team is worse than the teams before the Mullen era. We will win this game.

Who said it will be easy? We might beat Austin Peay easily, all the others are tough and we will have to play well to have a chance. But, this game is winnable.

It won't be easy but it's the second most winnable game left on the schedule. No excuses if UK can't win.

I'm not that optimistic about beating UGA either, but if we beat MSU and Missouri and show continued improvement, I might become more optimistic about our chances.

or go in the tank - a team like this can go either way.

Agree that we should prevail. Just pointing out we have some dawgs that have been kicked coming to town. It is going to be an especially violent game. Hope we get a better crew than we all probably expect. It will probably look like a nastier version of the Carolina game. Go Cats!

I'm a BYU season ticket holder. I was at the game on Friday. Both of MSUs TD drives were kept alive by penalties. I didn't see the substitution infraction on the first one. But the second drive there were some fishy calls and non-calls.

But both MSUs O-line and D-line were big and physical. Their O-line got tired in the 2nd half which allowed more sacks from BYU.

Also to the poster above who said BYU has only beat one team with a winning record. Their 3 losses are by a combined 7 points and include 2 top-25 teams. They played 6 P-5 teams in their first 7 games.

Been to Provo back in the day and got a private tour from a fund raiser who use to be a member of a group called The Letterman.. his son served a mission in this area...beautiful campus and stadium...BYU is very good and I think they have themselves a good new HC

They may not be , but we will have to play our best game of the year...must score 30+
If defense plays like it has been recently, we won't need 30 to win. We're due for a positive turnover game as well. I believe our defense can hold MSU under 20.

I also believe that our running game is much better than people realize after what Vandy has done to both Florida and Georgia running games. Miss St had a lot of trouble against Auburn stopping the run so hopefully that means we can make some serious gains on the ground.

This is a MUST win game. Our players should be pumped because they have a chance to stay in this SEC East race with a win. Not to mention I don't believe we've won 3 SEC games since 2010 I think?

UK cannot be one dimensional and win the MSU game IMO. Johnson needs to get his confidence back and hit the open throws. Hopefully in the open week the staff has installed some things that will help Johnson and also give MSU something new to have to stop. I would say more option attack but I don't think UK can afford to get Johnson hurt.
