What the hell. I mean I've seen worse, but I'm sort of surprised Nessler and co. stopped at "tangled up" and moved on. That's a blatantly intentional foul. Dude looks like he was playing strong safety across the middle.

The biggest problem is that it certainly looked intentional. This could have potentially resulted in a significant injury.

Kind of a bush league play IMO.
That hit wouldn't be legal in football terms. When it happened I told my wife I expected to see a yellow flag come flying on the floor for an illegal block in the back.

Yes it was a hard foul and it was also intentional and flagrant. The kid should have been tossed. Just another show of incompetent officials in the SEC.

You're a GD moron if you think that was just a "hard" foul.
Thanks mav, you posted exactly what I was thinking.

Hard foul, yes. Basketball play, no. He made no effort to make a play on the ball and the angle he took was to Hawkins' shoulder and neck area.

We beat their butts like a drum the first game. It will be nice when the hawk, and the team open up another can on 'em.

Had that been the 'UL flop', they would have carted him to the hospital.
