I'll shed at least 3 tears but no more than 5 regarding your expectations. Don't expect a self righteous 5,000 word essay though. Nobody gives a ****, even for a perfect former teacher.Laugh away. I wouldn't expect anything less from you.

See what? He entered an Alford plea and completed his sentence, as well as his one year suspension from the program...We shall see.

I agree, once she put her hands on him that is Assault. It is too bad there is no sound to the video. I would imagine that would explain a lot.Kidding? No. Im not kidding. i do not condone his choice of hitting her. I do see what happens in the video. She shoves him, then she slaps him. By law, that is assault. Period.
Spin it however you want. She assaulted him, plain and simple...
Who knows whether there might be any validity to your point. I don't believe so but it's not my call. Perfection is in your posted characterization of me, not mine. Eye of the beholder?I'll shed at least 3 tears but no more than 5 regarding your expectations. Don't expect a self righteous 5,000 word essay though. But, he's the one who is already thinking twice about his actions.I bet she will think twice next time she decides to poke the bear. I dont let anyone get free licks or hits on me. You put yourself in that situation you get what you get. She played a stupid game and won a stupid prize.
I HAVE seen your future. Many twists and turns, ups and downs, fortunes won and lost. You will be heralded though for your uncanny ability to sniff out blowhards and render them powerless. Not wanting to give away all the secrets so I won't tell you if I am one of your victims.I'm speechless. Not because of the video, but because of the unsurprising blowhards who are acting like they weren't cheering every TD Joe scored the last 2 season.
I figured the video to be worse. Not behavior I condone and would believe I'd never duplicate myself, but I cannot see the future.
Upgraded to 'Nearly Murders'...When? By Whom?Oh yeah, please tell me when an Iowa athlete nearly murders a drunken girl with a vicious haymaker or similar assault. The outdated story you posted will tell you the arrests at Iowa were largely public intoxication tickets. Hardly the horrific assaults you obviously consider just kids being kids. If it helps you sleep at night then believe whatever you want but that was atrocious. Maybe you can join a support group with the Penn State fan base?
I believe that Mixon has played his last game at OU watching this.
You've got to be kidding. What Joe did was so criminal. If a dog pisses on me twice, it doesn't give me the justification to shoot him.
Nothing good ever happens after midnight when alcohol & adolescents are mixed
I was leaning towards his dismissal from the program from the very beginning and posted such just like I did with the earlier Chaisson and Jarboe situations. I didn't see his justification for his REPORTED actions. I wasn't privy to the viewing of the video at that time but he was REPORTEDLY so physically superior to her.
I don't believe in striking a women except in self-defense. I don't see self-defense in the video. It appears to me that Joe was the aggressor and that there were apparent words or a mild altercation prior to both entering the restaurant. He followed her inside and seemed to be following up on such a prior event. Just my opinion. After some apparent brief dialog, she gave him a SLIGHT push and Joe made a menacing move of significant aggression as if to throw a forceful punch. When she gave him basically a seemingly mild love tap slap to the neck, he hit her with a violent haymaker when the situation warranted him to simply walk away.
His actions, IMHO, were unjustified for the relatively mild /response from a reportedly intoxicated Molitor. She posed NO real threat to him and I believe a jury will burn him accordingly if given the opportunity. I believe this is why Joe offered his "apology" a couple of weeks ago.
Your brother is a sick and twisted man as are you for thinking this is okay! Maybe someone should dish a little out to you, you thugExactly. Joe Mixon turns to walk away and she put her hands on him... TWICE...
Joe Mixon did nothing to provoke the assault that she dished out...
My brother would have a field day with this in court...
Your a sick twisted little thug punk like mixonMixon wasn't drinking. In fact, Mixon does not drink.

Universal Citation: 21 OK Stat § 21-643 (2014)
To use or to attempt to offer to use force or violence upon or toward the person of another is not unlawful in the following cases:
3. When committed either by the person about to be injured, or by any other person in such person's aid or defense, in preventing or attempting to prevent an offense against such person, or any trespass or other unlawful interference with real or personal property in such person's lawful possession; provided the force or violence used is not more than sufficient to prevent such offense;
His attempt to walk away from the situation was halted when she assaulted him, not once, but twice...
My wife watched the video. Her response... "He was walking away! She's an idiot. She should have been charged."
My lawyer brother, who was a cop for over 20 years... "With the video, no charges unless she insisted, then we would have arrested her... As an attorney, I would have advised Joe Mixon to plead not guilty. Once it is established that she in fact assaulted him, it would be over."
So, one can say, "but it was a girl!"
Here is a girl as well...
Give me your address and I will show you assaultKidding? No. Im not kidding. i do not condone his choice of hitting her. I do see what happens in the video. She shoves him, then she slaps him. By law, that is assault. Period.

Likes to fight guy always shows up around 2:00 am.Interesting how the later into the night and early morning this thread goes, the more threats and insults crop up.
This is my point. It was a terrible deal but there's nothing new to change anything that's already been done. Now had the video revealed something like after he dropped her he kicked her in the face, there would be something new to get upset about. But it didn't.So what. You & everybody knew full well he broke her face. Does it take the actually seeing it firsthand change your perspective? If so, FtWorth that weak sauce on your behalf as you have cheered for him and still accpet Stoops as the HC of the school your cheer for.
I say this with all respect... I believe that if you are true to convictions on this that you should step away from OU football while Stoops is the HC. Anything less is a complete sellout on your principles.
What happened is a bad deal. But there is nothing that you & I can do about it except for one thing... walk away from OU. I'm staying. She tossed a N bomb on him, pushed him, and then slapped her. He proceeded to break her face.
I got Auburn by a TD.
The girl should not have put her hands on him period. The name calling he could ignored, slapping him is a whole different situations. I always say you're big enough to start a fight you're big enough to get your butt whipped!"Nearly murders?: Tell us more Nancy.
I said when it happened that there is never an excuse for a man to hit a woman, never. Officials (DA and OU) who originally viewed the video and decided not to prosecute obviously had more information than just the video. Eye witness testimonies, etc to come to the conclusions that were made. How many times does a person have to pay for an incident (not judged a crime)? Obviously the media and many others think once is not enough. Not defending Mixon, just hate what this is doing to the OU brand. Let it go, let it go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would love to meet you in a dark alley bubba
My neighbor is attorney, here is what he said after she slapped him.
Yes. In the U.S., assault is an attempt to commit a battery (i.e.harmfully or offensively touching another person); or to put another person in reasonable apprehension of imminent bodily harm.
Assuming no consent was given, slapping a person across the face qualifies as an assault (technically, a battery), since it is an offensive touching. Makes no difference if the assailant is a man or woman.
