We shouldn't read too much into the fun we had destroying Purdue and we shouldn't read too much in to the loss to Georgetown. It's just the nature of exhibitions.

There's an entire season to go and a lot of time for this team to gel. The sky isn't falling. Yes, our offense looked like garbage. Yes, the effort wasn't there. Yes, defense looked like trash. Big whoop. Last week, they looked like a well-oiled machine.

As a side, does anyone know if Pope is still focusing on installing defense right now rather than offense? We weren't cutting hard, we were passing poorly, and we couldn't buy a bucket at the rim... Or anywhere, tbh. I'm hoping to see some of Pope's offensive system installed soon.

Opponents will quickly learn to sag off our bigs on top …

Thank goodness it wasn't a real game.

If it becomes a trend, then I'll worry. Obviously can't tell the fanbase what to do, but I think it's silly to freak out at this point.
Not freaking out, just the reality of the situation, ultimately if the players don’t care about their composure and comportment on the court, in due time, fans will become disinterested.

I mean, fair, but I don't think it's a trend yet. Might be singing a different tune when we've played 10 games, but who knows?

Also, was referring to the fanbase freaking out. Not you, specifically. That's my b.

It was an absolute **** show from beginning to end, no nicer way of putting it, Oweh provided zero communication or leadership to his team, zero.
I agree! But I don't think OO is the leader of this team. I think it's DA and we missed him terribly last night. Either way, what we watched was ugly, ugly bball. They punched us in the mouth early and often. We were way too soft. Granted, it almost appeared the refs were intentionally letting them do it and we didn't respond well at all. We folded and on top of that, we couldn't hit anything. We're gonna see a lot more of that style against us until we stop other teams from playing us that way, but we have the roster to do just that. I think you're right about no on court leader last night..

It was predictable with no experienced PG. Hero ball is not an offense. I think if Pope hoped to win this one, he needed to slowdown the offense instead of us taking the first available shot. Our three-point shot selection was horrible. The positive is Jasper and Collin got reps and insight to what the PG role isn't. We were left with Oweh and Mo creating offense and both got swallowed in the paint too many times. Inbound passing and offense passing were telegraphed and lazy which led to runouts by GT. We have tons of team talent but need a lead PG to orchestrate. Stings, but just an early wakeup call and some game tape to make these guys see that we go far as a team not as a bunch of guys auditioning for the draft. I hope JLo and Aberdeen heal up quickly. Their current state is vague at best, so Collin and Jasper could be playing PG the next two games and I think Pope doesn't mind it for the experience. The next two cupcakes shouldn't be a high risk. Go Cats.

Well if this game is an indication, Purdue must REALLY suck. They’re going nowhere but to the bottom of the BIG. Probably won’t be a tournament team. They were manhandled by a team that was manhandled by Georgetown. If we’re going to read into exhibitions, then let’s also play the who lost to who game.

Anyone think Purdue is missing the Tournament?

It’s an exhibition. Many coaches throw these games and don’t even try to win them. Pitino was notorious for throwing not just exhibitions, but real games to add a loss and strip the paint from the walls.

Don’t read into this at all. Wait until this happens in games not practice. We don’t know what Pope was doing so there’s no way to know what it means.

Coach needs to play the best players, and forget about playing 12-13 dudes. But first, these “load management” injuries need to stop!

Yes, I understand injuries are apart of the game, but going back to last season, this has been a problem, and no one is going to tell me dudes aren’t taking games off!

terrible exhibition .........no team play, bad shots, no rebounding, blocked dunks
G-town picked to finish 6th in their conference, yet UK could not stop their division II point guard, he did want he wanted & when someone did switch off, they got a wide open layup

lack of athletic ability will again haunt this team against the quicker SEC teams
high hopes quickly dashed unless Lowe & JQ are as good as advertised.
The myth of Noah turning into a dead eye shooter is laughable and Jasper takes too many fade aways off of one foot shots

Rick was tossed from the game in his exhibition loss in Italy. Not sure he was trying to throw that one. I think he did throw the SEC championship game though.
