With the likes of Burton (and even Weese wanting to have a good game vs his old team) our suspect corners are going to be burned for more than 16 points; hope I'm wrong. I do believe Mizzou has been over-rated from the get-go, but this will be a jihad effort for them, as the following week they are at resurgent South Carolina which looks like a sure L.

And Barnes is not going to run roughshod again like he did against JV level Maine. We should have worked more on our passing game but only had Arnold toss it 21 times before being taken out, and instead wasted the day on pounding Barnes against the antithesis of a SEC D. Joe Jon should have been fired with Littrell, especially after the 10 sacks versus Ole Miss when he kept having Arnold drop straight back over and over instead of trying ANYTHING different (screens, roll outs...something to get the ball out fast). Zero faith in Joe Jon to game plan accordingly or make second half adjustments (vs. Ole Miss he got pantsed).

Unfortunately, Mizz > OU. I know they have been underperforming a bit but at their house, with our suspect everything on offense, I think we are in wishful thinking mode for anything other than a loss. My negative Nancy .02.

I'm thinking 28 - 14 Mizz

I understand. However my pick is more of a hopeful wish than anything else. BTW the KREF guys sure have been talking up Dan Mullins as being high on the list as OUs next OC. Seems it is gaining steam.

Barnes may not play. He's on the injury report, I believe questionable.

Dan Mullen made in excess of $6M his last five years as a head coach. $7.5M his last year. IMO if he comes to Oklahoma as OC, he’s got an eye on becoming the new head coach should Brent not make it. I would be surprised to ever see him as an OU OC.

I honestly know nothing about Mullen other than his Florida team that gave Alabama a scare. Most of that team's star power declared for the NFL before they played us and got steamrolled.

All I know is that his name is being mentioned as a top candidate. Like you I don’t see it considering other young OC possibly being available. I am not a fan of him but evidently many like the idea.

Fans felt better about the O vs Maine game but that was a Jr High Team. Very likely our last shot at a win the rest of the way and its not very likely to happen. BV said he was more concerned about getting better than he was about the 25 straight OU Bowl Streak. Maybe he forgot the extra practices we get if we become Bowl Elgible. I have moved on from this staff and will just ride it out until change is made. If I am wrong and they turn it around next yr I will eat my crow but too much in a hole for me to expect it gets any better next year.
If you go back and look at the BV hires in his 1st yr till now you will see OU was not very serious about the move to the SEC as they should have been and that includes hiring a HC with no experience as a HC. I watched a special on ESPN last night on Steve Spurrier, the part where in his Career as a Coach he got the HC job at Duke and was asked why he took it? He said nobody else was asking him to come be a HC. I thought the same about BV. Nobody had asked him until OU. BV is no Steve Spurrier.

Another BV 3 game losing skid starts today I am afraid. Hope to be proven wrong.

I totally agree and, like you, I sincerely hope we are both wrong. If so, we can share the crow.

OU is playing for a bowl berth today. It’s the last chance with Alabama and LSU looming.
I expect a good effort tonight. The coaches and players know what’s at stake.

I’d feel a whole lot better if Barnes was playing. But then the Tigers are without their starting QB.

Sorry, but that's just wrong across the board. No one in college football can survive the kind of injuries we've had in the OLine AND losing our top five receievers for six games. The offense cannot survive. Add to that, the toughest schedude in the SEC, and it's be impossible to overcome. With maybe two returning tonight at WR, and some young OL's getting enough experience to be ready to play, we might have a decent chance.

Getting Bowl eligible would be a saving grace to this crappy season. Even though 6-6 would suck. Everyday I wonder what this Universities plan was for getting SEC ready.

Yea I know they didn’t plan for the injuries but…..

Hmm- 1st Half MVP is ZS

Defense gets an A
Offense - C

Can they hold on?
If the offense can get out of its own way we may be able to get the W.
The good thing so far is Misery's offense is offensive as ours so far.

I don't know if there will be any *** kicking by either side. Is OUr leader passer our punter? MIzzou has had more success running it, but not by much. Pretty good defenses, pretty meager offenses. Maybe pathetic offenses. But if we get win six and make a bowl game, maybe we'll get enough bodies back to wind up with seven wins. Arnold is looking like a deer in the Tiger headlights. Maybe he is.

Bowl games on life support and I'm just apathetic. No reason this Missouri offense should be doing anything. No faith in the offense.

I don't believe we're allowed to score in the second half of an SEC game.

No explosive plays. No running game. No offense. Yet we refuse to play those youngsters who were getting nasty last week.

It's like Venables doesn't want to coach here anymore.

To be fair, I am not sure I want him to continue coaching OU

2nd Half Grades to this point

Offense. F-
Defense - F
Coaching - F ( really ungradable)
