I blame it on Alou. He's the one that caused that circus. If he just runs back, the Cubs don't fall apart. But the fans fed off of Alou and created it. Then his teammates were mentally effed and fell apart, immediately botching a double play right after that.
Alou could've made a better attempt, but i think it's realistically out of his reach. But yes, it was Alex Gonzalez screwing up an easy double play right after. They gave up five runs that would've never happened.
