Braves officials limited the use of the tomahawk chop for tonight's game. That must be the reason.

Yes @IPSYCHOSIS just a shellshocked Braves fan....they stunk up the joint.. Bottom line: Freddie Freeman plays like Freddie Freeman its a Braves-Nats NLCS....Pulling for Nats now-love them whipping the mighty Dodgers!!! OFC
True. And this is why I wear my Braves hat to work and my Duke hat going out ...I don’t even wear my Vikings hat anymore lol. Just heartbreak after heartbreak. Then they end up not being able to pay their stars and the “pay to play World Series Yankees” get them or somebody else. Then we’ll suck for few years only for us to get this close again, lose, and lose all our good players again. Repeat. Lol not exactly how it goes but you get my drift. I’m just annoyed blabbing.....

I don’t have a dog in the fight, but in our family mlb playoff pool, I pulled the astros out of the hat, so that’s who I’m going with.

If the Yankee's can figure out a way to beat Cole or Verlander just once, I think they win the series and make it to the World Series. GO YANKEE'S!!!!!!

Looks like it's not "in the Cards" for St. Louis. Washington looks like one of those teams that gets hot at the same time and rides tremendous starting pitching. Could be a tough out for either the Astros or Yanks.

Honestly, I feel really good as a Yankees fan. Stole one in Houston and our staff has given up 3 runs in 20 innings. We do need someone not named Judge, DJL, and Torres to step up on offense though.

It's that double-edged sword thing. If someone had told you Saturday morning you're going to split you take it all day, every day. But when you win the first game and have numerous chances to win the second and then don't, people look at it different. If I'm a Yankees fan then I'm pretty content with the split....and maybe a tad frustrated at not getting game two.

I said Astros in seven to start so I'm sticking with that. I have no skin in this one....I'll take five more great games like the one last night and be happy, regardless of the outcome.

Reminds me of Maddux and Glavine always being lights out during the regular season and then seemingly getting shelled in every post season game they pitched

I believe your memory is extremely foggy. The way the Braves lost in the post season was to go deep in the count on these guys and get them out of the game and brutalize the bullpen. Glavine had an ERA of 2.16 in his World Series starts and Maddux had a 2.09.

Baseballreference.com shows Maddux at 3.27 and Tom at 3.30
Still better than I would have thought.
Hard to believe you can win your division 13 years in a row and only win one World Series..
1991 hurt me the most

Shut up @dukiejay

I thought 1991 was glorious. Lonnie Smith is still one of my favorite players, and I thought what Gant did to Hrbek was grounds for dismissal. :D

Try Baseball almanac for your stats. Anyway, Bobby Cox was the fool that was the undoing of the Braves all those years. You had a team that was offensively terrible in the post season and he relied to much on his bullpen. I'm riding my horses to the finish line or until they physically cant go anymore before handing the ball to average bullpen guys.

This could be it for my Yankees. Do they have more will and desire than the Astros. We will find out. OFC

The best team won. The Astros just have too many hitters. Their entire lineup is so dangerous.

Astros over Nationals in 5

The Astros are the best team. The Nats are the hottest team. Something has to give.

I’ll say Astros in six.

A healthy Yankees team and little better starting rotation and they are there with the Astros, but I said before that the Astros would win in 6

Washington is playing so well right now. They’re actually manhandling Houston through two games.
