It's going to be fun seeing someone new win it that isn't the Cardinals, Giants or Red Sox.

Who ga got out of the final four?

Blue Jays
Royals
Cubs
Mets

Not a fan of any of these teams, so it will be good to just watch and have no pressure.

Cubs - It would be a nice story to see them win, but it's a better story to see them suffer heartbreaking losses.
Mets - I have no opinion on the Mets except for their hair is terrible.

Mets in 6

Royals - good story and fun to see a mid-market team be successful.
Jays - Gonna be a big letdown after that game.

Royals in 7

Royals take the series.

These days, I have very little interest in baseball, but I have a couple neighbors from Chicago that have been inviting people over for food and drinks during the games... so, Go Cubs!!!

I'm an old Mets fan, although I honestly haven't followed baseball in about 10 years. Having said that, I find myself pulling for the Cubs based on their century of ineptitude. They are the Kentucky football of baseball.

Have found myself watching more baseball this year though. Cubs and Mets are two exciting teams to watch, should be a great series. Awesome pitchers on both teams.

Cubs-Mets matchup is going to be spectacular. The Cubs young, rising-star lineup against the Mets young, rising-star rotation. Can't wait for that one.

Personally though, I'm pulling for the Royals. Fell in love with them down the stretch last season, hated to see them lose Game 7 last year. The Cueto factor doesn't hurt.

KC is the best team, but I would be scared of Chicago, very very hot right now. Much like KC was last year . .

Also, Chi has a huge home field advantage, maybe the biggest in the playoffs, that may make a difference in a close series.

Actually, a vote for the New York Mets is really one against the Yankmes, and to some respects, a vote against the type of New Yorker everyone hates.

Giants/Yanks/Knicks fans are really the obnoxious fanbases. Mets/Islanders/Jets are more just pessimistic, downtrodden, and hate their own teams more than anyone else.

I've been waiting my entire life for the Cubs to be there (which can be said by every Cubs fan currently alive), so I'm going to be pretty sad if there's any other result.

2003 was such a missed opportunity in the world of sports. Cubs and Red Sox would have been one of the best World Series ever and instead we got Yankees/Marlins.

Agreed. In the same way it felt like we missed out on destiny last year in the Final Four, it certainly seemed like that should have been the series in 2003. Baseball suffered for it the same way CBB will in retrospect.

I'd like to see Cubs and Royals which means we'll likely see the Mets and Blue Jays.
That's my thinking as well. I'm a Cards fan but would be special to see the Cubs win. They are a likable team and I really like Joe Madden.

So two former Redsstarters are about to lead KC to the World Series but at least Cinci kept Homer Bailey, Jay Bruce and Joey Votto!

[sick]

plus Madson, Encarcinon, and didn't Dionner Navorro play for Cincy at one time as well? Not that I am bitter or anything . . .

Looking forward to some kind of Bartman issue again this year. People can talk about Ky getting beat by Fla 30 years in a row....but not winning a WS in over 105 years takes the cake. Imagine being an 85 year old guy, every spring thinking this might be the year.......only to have the worst team in baseball history year-end/year-out bumble. Amazing.

Bartman is stupid, so let me get this right you can't wait for a fan to try to catch a foul ball? Gotcha!

Yes 105 years is bad but maybe you should check your math out.

A cubs fan, maybe? Well, I did say "over 105 years" in fact, it's worse than that - 107 years sound right? I felt a little sorry for the losers until I saw how they destroyed Bartman's life because of a baseball game. The cubs lost that game themselves, not Bartman.

I swear if Alou doesn't freak out on Bartman, the team doesn't fall apart. He did it to the Cubs not Bartman and the 20 other fans who went for the foul ball.

I'm a Cubs fan, have been since the mid 90's, and I'll be the first to tell you Alex Gonzalez lost that game not Bartman.

And I guess you could blame cub fans for "ruining" bartman's life but in reality they gave him a lottery ticket he was scared to cash in.

How did you become a cubs fan? Why did you become a cubs fan? Curious

I always like STL because being from Louisville we had their AAA farm team, I always liked Cinci because for major league games it's where my dad took me, and I always liked the Cubs because I saw more of their games than anyone growing up being on WGN everyday.

The year I really started cheering for the Cubs was when the Redbirds were pulled out of Louisville and I began hating the cards for it and As I grew up and realized the rivalry I grew more towards the Cubs. Then the year that SF beat us to make the series was the year I really and truly consider myself a diehard ever since.

It was really a perfect storm for me, and I still like the Reds but they like the Cubs before Theo just make stupid decisions.

The Reds do make stupid decisions. As a kid, growing up in the days of the BRMachine, there were some teams I grew to believe you should never lose to....Atlanta, Chicago, Mets, Astros, Pads....No matter how good they may be in any given season, I still have it in my head you should never lose to those teams. My father in law began watching the braves in '81 when they were on TBS every night. It just didn't feel right that anyone in Ky would like the braves.....IMO, tv has ruined natural geographic team allegiances......You should be a Reds fan :) !

I am, but I never had the draw to them. IIRC in '90 we still had the Redbirds there in Louisville and I really enjoyed seeing Ray Lankford and Brian Jordan and the like play live then also be up on STL. After that '90 team Cinci was mostly awful.

I do agree about ATL though, man I hated them in the 90's!

I've always thought if your hometown or state doesn't have a pro team, you're pretty much a free agent in choosing teams. Being from Kentucky, my entire family were Reds fans and those were all of the games I attended as a kid. I was a huge Barry Larkin/Eric Davis fan but after the mid 90s didn't care too much anymore and didn't have a "team" until I moved to Orange County and became a big Angels fan. They're a lot of fun to watch and it has been a blast to see Trout come about in our home city.

What made it worse was the Chicago TV station that gave out his name, home address, and phone number. For that alone, I never want to see the Cubs win anything.

Cubs are pretty much toast, although anything can happen. Mets need just 5 more wins. Hopefully they can go into the WS well rested.

Damn disappointing NLCS.

The good thing about being a Cubs fan though:

There's always next year...

Well rested? Both series are 0-3

The Cubs hitting has been out matched and the old adage is that pitching wins World Series. That mets staff is legit but I won't make excuses we are flat out getting handled.

Both series could end tonight, but still a bonus that the Mets might make it to the WS only having to play a 4-game series in the NLCS. Still, I'd bet the Mets end theirs before KC does.

Gonna be tough to beat. They are red hot right now.

Mets and Royals have outclassed their opponents in these series'. Pitching is defeating hitting...
