There's lots to hunt in a lot of threads. It's not about limiting free speech. It's about the trolls. Yeah, nobody is happy about losing, but making this place miserable for everyone else needs to come to a stop.
It sure does seem like limiting free speech and if the truth hurts too bad because sometimes the truth hurts.

This is a private message board and you have no free speech rights here. Were pretty reasonable and let people have their say good or bad as long as you conduct yourself civilly and follow the rules. You can express criticism or dissatisfaction in a civil and intelligent way. We're just simply not going to put up with trolls, repeated constant negativity aka "stirring the pot", profanity laced tirades, or blatant insults of our staff or players.

Been on this board for 8 years and I hate to say it, but might be time to end the free board.

Nobody has been more critical of what is going on with this team than I have. This isn`t complicated so why a few of you are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill here is laughable.

Why does this site change moderators more often than the Nebraska team changes coaches? What I find rather ironic is that several of these Gestapo moderators appear to be the same ones (unless others are copying their screen names) that go to other sites and talk smack.

Seriously Gestapo? Enjoy the ban for that. FYI we have added 1 new mod in the last 18 months, try to keep up.

You are clueless. Where did you go to school? Free speech has nothing to do with a website. This is not government ran.

Folks who can't abide by the rules can go and start their own message board.
Thank you moderators for putting up with the children and taking out the trash.

Just an observation. A sensationalist remark is made. 15 people jump on the sensationalist poster, but these same 15 people go to some other extreme that angers others. Result snowball effect. Ignoring the remark as sensationalism would have been prudent.

A good observation in my opinion...

Having said that, it can be hard to ignore some of the sensationalist stuff around here. I know I haven't ignored it all...

What confuses me is that this ban on "repetitive negative posts" is so sudden. Why now? We suffered through Solich's 7-7. Callahan's 2 losing seasons in four, and Bo's tirades. And thousands of negative tirades on this board. But only personal insults, or unbridled profanity got you banned.

In all that time, good and bad, we watched them on tv, went to games when we could get a ticket, bought the husker T-Shirts and Christmas decorations, and mouse pads. Heck, sent our kids to DONU.

That loyalty should at least allow for free expression on a husker BBS board. Not carpet-banning for our opinion good or bad.

I have read repeatedly from the mods you have free expression. It's how you choose to express yourself that could get you banned. Be respectful of the coaches and players, as well as other posters. Pretty simple.

This ban is not sudden at all. Guys have yelled at me here for 15 years for banning them for repeated negative posts. I have no problem with anyone stating their opinion. I`m as critical of this program as anyone here. The things that get you banned are calling staff, AD, players and other posters names and calling for people to be fired. If what you say is true about negativity then I should be banned as well. The difference is I don`t call staff names, demand players be removed from the squad or call them names. Say what you want, complain all you want but do so in a lucid argument rather than childish name calling.

I find it ironic the ones trying to silence everyone and ostrisize those not drinking the kool-aid are the same group that made this place miserable the last few years. It's the same group that is quick to degrade anyone who disagrees and quick to resort to name calling. This thread is a prime example of the kool-aid funneling at it's best.

I have no idea what that means but it sure sounds fun.
