Memphis vs. Arkansas. In years past, I’d be all over that in favor of Arkansas. Because of the situation and how much I want Calipari’s only legacy to be here, I want him to face-plant at Arkansas. Just being honest, and there’s not many programs I’d root to lose against Memphis.

Also, their fans are pretty much nowadays aligned to their fate as a doormat. Unwanted by the power 4, no way out of of purgatory as evidenced by allowing Penny to stay for eyeballs regardless of wins and losses, and no longer seen as any kind of national threat. Nowadays it’s a fanbase of total apathy without a prayer. Which is really cool considering how awful they are.

Go Memphis, for maybe the 2nd or 3rd time in my life (rooted for them when it was Tennessee / Memphis 1 and 2 game).

Calipari is doing his revenge thing which makes him dangerous right now. Want to see them never click on all cylinders.

We are WAAAAY more sized up and athletic than last year. Problem is we have to play them down there.

I’ve just accepted that’s a game that Cal is going to want more than us every year until he’s gone. “everyone’s super bowl” applies to him now as well.

Not that Pope doesn’t want to win that game. I’d like to think he has just as much motivation as Cal. But Arkansas just isn’t going to be a threat nationally under Cal because Cal is not a threat to win a title anymore. The rest of college basketball figured him out years ago and he refused to readapt. Sad

Some of these analysts need to get a job at cnn. So sick of the bias opinions! If you know the game of basketball just report what you see not what you want to happen. Kentucky is a scary team and is definitely one of the 10 teams that could win it all.

They are more athletic than Kentucky. You can see from eyesight

They just lack a coach that can teach offense

Memphis and Arkansas are just playing high speed street ball... The game speed is way faster than Kentucky Purdue game

I think Kentucky will rank higher than them in the end but may lose to them in regular season again

Looks like a typical Cal team.
Play small rotation of talented players too many minutes.
No structured half court offense. Just either iso or hustle to get points in transition or extra possessions.
Works for a bit until your players legs are gone late in the season and or injuries pile up.

I could be wrong but I just don’t see Arkansas being able to do anything against our defense. I also don’t see Arkansas as the more athletic team. We have 11 just as or more athletic than their 6. JQ is gonna take our team to another level imo.

You are wrong, and Arkansas is the more athletic team. Not saying Kentucky isn’t athletic, but Arkansas is probably the most athletic team in the country. Arkansas and Kentucky will both be top5 teams, imo.

Arkansas players are taking bad 2-point jumpers. Guys look out of control at points. Looks like AAU ball.
They will be dangerous with second year Richmond and Knox along with those freshman guards, but Cal has to get over those long 2’s. That will be their downfall if they lose early. I think they defend and run transition well enough to coast to a S16 again though. I hope they totally fail, but I don’t see it yet.

Yeah once he’s on the court if healthy and back playing to his capability he takes our athleticism and defense to the next level.

Purdue is not athletic enough, they are skilled but not super fast

If we meet Purdue in tournament again, I still think we can dominate them

Will see how our defense will be against more athletic teams

Arkansas plays extremely fast

We are physical this year, but pure athleticism is worse than Arkansas, but we can still overcome them from other aspects.
