Unless the fix is in, which is certainly a possibility, I don't see how McGregor even lands a solid punch against Floyd.Who do you got and why?

No losers when you're finishing in the black by 9 digits. Prolly go on vacation together 8/27.Floyd, but they both win with this publicity stunt. The only way this is interesting is if it is UFC rules.
With the fight being 8/26 it's just adding to possibly one of the greatest days ever. Got the GBW/MS and LA/Phillips games, 2 bbq's and the fight night cap. To quote Ice Cube, I have to say it was (will be) a good day. This is a board post for February, not 11 days before kickoff of the season.
I agree that the fix may be in as these guys recognize two maybe three fights pay better than one. Floyd should handle this easily. If he doesn't, greed is involved and all of the suckers that dish out cash for this fight will need to take a shower.
Not sure how many remember Sugar Ray vs Duran #2 (no mas) but that fight had a stank similar to this one. I never paid for that second fight after joyfully watching (and paying serious coin) the first one.

Was thinking fix may be in as far as going more than 4 rounds or so....There is no way the fix is in. Mayweather wouldn't want that loss on his record. The only fix may be the rounds it goes. Floyd can end this one when he wants.

Save on gas money. They took the same private plane to London to hype their fight. I could see the judges fixing it so Floyd wins by split and the. U get a rematch.
I thought Conor's best bet was the 10oz gloves.officially 8 oz gloves now
Why his punches would have been more cushioned with 10sI thought Conor's best bet was the 10oz gloves.
I think he's going to be taking vastly more punches, with less cushion now. My question on the fight was could Conor take 12 rounds of punishment. More likely with 10oz. gloves. Why his punches would have been more cushioned with 10s

That's what I was thinking. Bones is thinking backwards.Mayweather isn't exactly known for having a heavy hand. Smaller gloves favor McGregor in this sham of an exhibition.
Death by a thousand cuts, and the knife just got a little sharper. Besides Mayweather has fought the vast majority of his fights in 8oz gloves.Mayweather isn't exactly known for having a heavy hand. Smaller gloves favor McGregor in this sham of an exhibition.

By the later rounds those hits start to add up. Hatton went head first into the turnbuckle.
Who do you got and why?
About as expected. Nice uppercut from Conor.
You are correct, all the instructions were directed towards McGregor. I watched the fight, McGregor instinctively wanted to use his MMA skills but stopped himself more than once. Not sure if it was fixed... but definitely should not have been stopped when it did. Let him go down once before you call it.
My question is this: Did anyone besides me see that in the pre-fight instructions, the referee directed all of his commentary towards McGregor?
Floyd was scared $#|+[€$$ MCGregor was going to kill him if he broke bad and went MMA on him. He spoke first after the fight and made sure to kiss the ring a bit, danced around it but made clear this was boxing rules.I'm not much of a fan of either of them, but I have contempt for mayweather and don't consider him a great champion compared to the guys we grew up watching.
That being said... mayweather doesn't have the stones to fight him in a MMA setting.
I thought it would be and could have been ended faster, but Floyd normally doesn't go on the attack anyways. I think he gave him rds 1-3 for the fans and dominated after that. Maybe if he doesn't give the 1st 3 he ends in 6 or 7.I only caught the last four rounds by my impression was May was dragging out the fight by never following his jab when MacG dropped his gloves. It honestly looked like May wanted to get into the 10th and then delivered a minor flurry that allowed the ref to call it before real damage occurred.
So you don't have to agree with my belief that it was "fixed" but for some reason, it ended later than it should have.
I don't think that you can hold it against Mayweather for not wanting to fight under MMA rules, especially at 40 years of age. Plus, he's not exactly alone in that department. I can only think of a few boxers off the top of my head that attempted MMA at a high level (James Toney, Ray Mercer, Holly Holm, Art Jimmerson) so it's not like Mayweather is refusing to do something that his peers are doing.I'm not much of a fan of either of them, but I have contempt for mayweather and don't consider him a great champion compared to the guys we grew up watching.

Did you like Mayweather BEFORE the domestic violence issue? lolAgreed... but for a guy that likes to smack women, I wish he would!
LOL I figured that you didn't like him even before the domestic violence issues. With that being said, I'm not suggesting that you SHOULD like him, however I think people have taken him way too seriously. "Pretty Boy Floyd" wasn't a huge super star and so he created "Money Mayweather" to become financially successful. He's a defensive styled fighter. That was a tough sell. People didn't want to pay to see him win and so he created a character that they would pay to see lose. I believe that's why he became so over the top. Now what's funny about him and McGregor is that a lot of fans absolutely love McGregor for all of the same reasons that they hate Mayweather. Not really... my disdain for him came long before then. I don't care how much money he has made or his record. There are things in this world money can't buy, and he has proven that time and again. Unfortunately we live in a society that is evolving to continually celebrating such behavior.
It's unfortunate.
I guess I'm getting old
and the reason I started pulling for Money. The way he affects people and controls them emotionally made me be a supporter (in fights). I didn't care one way or the other (actually I was a hater from the De La Hoya fight) until the Pacquiao fight, but when I saw all the sad faces leaving the bar I had to join TMT.LOL I figured that you didn't like him even before the domestic violence issues.
