I'm not dogging this thread, but rather I'm just pointing out a strange fact: this is our first NBA-based thread of the season.

The last few years we had hundreds of NBA threads by this point.

Calipari being gone has definitely changed the Kentucky culture from a fan perspective.
Accurate…and sadly I’m at an all-time low in NBA interest. NBA was my first love (I’m an 80’s kid), UK was on probation when I first developed a love for basketball so it’s all I watched. College Basketball quickly overtook it, but I still followed the NBA and typically watch the playoffs. I don’t know if it’s Cal Burnout Syndrome, the cookie cutter nature of teams (the 3-point shootouts are boring), or the load management BS but I have watched maybe 15 minutes this year.

So proud of my dude. He’s a pure scorer. Dude is insane when he gets cooking. Such a great athlete too. He’s the still playing version of Jamal Crawford.

Fox, monk and bam is without a doubt my favorite group of frosh of the cal era.
Even with Higgins on the take we were up 5 with a few min to play. That team wins the ship if they get by the dbags wearing baby blue.
When IH hit that jumper top of key to go up 5 I thought that was it.
That team deserved a chance in the final four.

LOVED watching that dude play. Glad he’s improving. In looking up his stats, it was kinda interesting; his points (from 6 to 16) and assists (from 1 to 5) have steadily improved almost every year he’s been in the league.
The Lakers like the dumbarses that Jeanie Buss is allowed him to walk when they needed all the shooting they could get around LeChina. They have let so much young talent go or get traded for aging Vets it’s crazy,

I always thought Denver should have gone after him for starting 2 guard.

I wanted to post Fox scoring 60 and then 49 the next night but I kept quiet because I didn’t know if people would complain .

Come down and jack up a three ... rebound, go to the other end, jack up a three ... repeat.
This clip is a microcosm of the NBA in 2024. Just not for me. I’m so grateful to have grown up in the golden age of the NBA, in the 80s. Barely looks like the same sport. Not to mention the players now are SO soft.

I can’t even enjoy fantasy basketball bc half of my roster perpetually has an injury designation & “guys” will miss weeks with something that players in the 80s wouldn’t have even left the game for. The face of the league is a 6-9, 270 lb freight train that acts like he was shot with a 12 gauge when he runs into a pick. Embarrassing.

Monk was crazy at UK. Could hit 3’s without seeing the basket, fading away.
Monk and Fox could cook defenders. Last team that could overcome CCC’s lack of coaching. Was a legit title contender because they could overcome CCC.
I was watching some clips of past games during 09-10 season and I can’t believe that team couldn’t win the championship with all of that talent. Even if they had an off night(which they did) they had enough talent that surely someone could’ve stepped up. But a coach that won’t or can’t adjust just kills a chance to win.

Has Monk been back at an Arkansas game yet. I still don't believe he will be well received. Might be like Cal and Rex doing a book signing in Rupp.

Lucky to see his 44 (?) point performance versus Unc in Vegas … thrilling game with 12-15K Cat fans in LV

And allowed a certain player to do something during a loss, that I don't think any other coach would have been cool with at all.

Favorite Cat of the Cal era. Would like to see the kings make some noise in the playoffs.
That UNC game in Vegas was one of the best performances in college I've ever seen. Just carried us on his back, refused to lose, made some INSANE shots down the stretch.
